Hi ! I am a high school senior with a 3.7-3.8 gpa and a sat score of 1460. I got a mail from Stevenson Institute of Tech today stating that I've been shortlisted for Priority Application through the college board student search service. I'm not sure as to what that entails apart from a priority merit scholarship consideration and if it's a marketing gimmick. Also I saw that it has a decent rep for it's engineering but since I'll be applying for Economics or Finance (up for discussion) and want to break into IB, PE or consulting in NYC(in that order of preference), what's the rep for business

I had my superday for 2021 SA over 2 weeks ago, still haven't heard back. Does Goldman ghost candidates after final rounds? I thought everyone heard back within a few days.

Hi everyone, I got invited to the GS Global Markets (loan management) Superday. I have been trying to find more info on the division and how interviews usually look like but couldn't find much here or on the internet in general. Does anyone have any experience or any insights into the division/interviews. The job is specifically Goldman Sachs Global Markets (loan management) in their Dallas office. Let me know if you have any other question. Thank you!

Hey, I recently verbally accepted an offer for the 2021 Summer analyst position at MS for investment management fixed income (I know this is IB but still) and was very happy since this is my dream job-going into the buy side was more preferable for me and I wanted to learn from a BB. I have also been interviewing for GS but probably will cancel interviews now that I verbally accepted, since I prefer their culture, people, etc. However I spoke to a professor at my school who's been in the industry for years and he said MS is good but only a quarter as good as GS which is in another league. He

I will be as honest as I can and will love hate or advice regardless what it is. I transferred to a target school a year ago as a junior, if you look at my post history it will explain everything. And after being there for a year I've slowly re-evaluated everything. IB was the most promising career that would be lucrative with time whether it be going to PE or whatever else. Although after coming to a point, doing a random accounting internship this summer, just so I can have the opportunity to recruit for next summer, (which if I put the effort in I will land something, and just started the

S/o to the Quants out there. Anyone have any idea what the math portion will consist of? EV, Probability, die, cards questions, maybe brainteasers? Also curious on the 2 programming ones, would it be just 2 Leetcode mediums, any Leetcode Hards? Good luck.

I'm a summer analyst candidate and had my superday on Wednesday, Aug 19. Today I asked my recruiting coordinator when I can expect to hear feedback, and she said probably next week or so. I can't go through this waiting game for potentially another 2 weeks! Why must you torture me, Goldman? If you're gonna reject me, JUST DO IT NOW.

I am currently going to be working as an Investment Management Sophmore summer analyst this summer at GS, and I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight surrounding the feasibility of transferring into IBD for next summer. Would it be just as difficult as someone who was not already working at the firm? Since applications are released during my internship in July, would it look poorly for me to switch divisions at such a time? Thanks in advance!

Hey guys. For the Goldman Sachs summer internship, does choosing the location/subdivision determine the competitiveness? For example, locations such as West Palm Beach only have consumer and investment management and actually that doesn't seem too bad for me. I'm still exploring my options in the world of finance and consulting. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me whether or not it matters which subdivision/location you actually intern at/any experiences they've had! Thank you.

I applied to GS and wrote on my resume that I did a 2 week unpaid internship at another BB, (it was organised by a family friend) and I just remembered we decided to cut it short so I only ended up doing it for 1 week. I haven't gotten to the interview stage yet so I dont know how the background check process works and was wondering if we get a chance to send a new cv for the purpose of the background check once we get an offer. I'm happy to send a fresh cv but I dont think GS accept updated CVs or do they?. Should I withdraw my app and apply with a different email?

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this. I'm 1/4 Irish and 3/4 German. I come from a wealthy family, but they wouldn't even pay for braces. My teeth are a bit crooked (almost done invisalign in two months), two small chips due to playing spots, and kind of small due to my genes (parents also skimped in whole milk, quality fish, etc...). I really don't want to be held down due to this minor (perceived) flaw. I've always been the brightest and would rather do technology sales than be held down for life in a place like NYC. I can either spend 25-30k on my teeth or put it towards a

I saw this video on TikTok. Is racism at Goldman Sachs really that bad? She made GS sound like a plantation. She has many other videos too, and people in her comments are telling their own stories. https://www.tiktok.com/@justsadeee/video/68868698… https://www.tiktok.com/@justsadeee/video/68877302…

Title. Basically, how the fuck did David Solomon manage to become a top DJ in spite of being in IBD? How does anyone find the time to work on a hobby in IB or in MF PE? And not just be mediocre at best at it, but actually really good?

Hey guys, Very hard to find information on Goldman Sachs' buyside operations. From what I understand Merchant Banking and SSG have been merged into one entity now referred to as Merchant Banking. Let me know if my findings are correct: From what I understand, the Merchant Banking team acts like a PE firm (using Goldman's balance sheet as opposed to LPs) that also does mezzanine financing and distressed debt and real estate. The SSG group acts like a hedge fund and invests in distressed debt, start-ups, event driven catalyst equities etc Not sure how Goldman Sachs Investment Partners fits into

I've been looking into the Private Equity Group within GS AIMS recently (saw a posting a few weeks ago) and noticed a lot of former analysts were able to exit into PE buyout shops, despite the group doing primaries / secondaries / co-investments, rather than LBOs. Would anyone have insight into why this is the case? I've been reading forums on here that have said it is tough for guys in these sort of FoF roles to get into direct LBO shops, but it seems this happens routinely at GS AIMS PEG. Any insight would be appreciated!

Was wondering if there was any insight into the culture/comp/hours for analysts within these two firms in the London Office. Would be nice to see a group breakdown if possible.

Hi all! I am beyond lucky to have many offers, however, they are all over the place and I don't know what is the best option to pick for my future. I am a finance student - unsure what I want to do! Goldman Sachs PWM - Great name and pretty much double the pay I would be getting at the other opportunities I am listing. Downside, not as meaningful work. JPM - Two opportunities here. One in TCIO and one that is more Accounting. Not as interested in these roles, but great name! Private Equity Firm - A mid size firm, LOVE the people and has a great environment. Not amazing pay though... Is PE

Hi all, I have received a final-round interview for a role at an investment bank. I am not from a banking background and wanted to know the etiquette of approaching your Linkedin network/HR at the firm about insight into what the interview could be like. Is it okay to ask people who work in the team you are applying for for insight for the interview? Or are they not allowed to tell you? Thanks!

Monkeys, Have posted this on the PE forum but figured I tried my luck here too. Recently received my invitation for Goldman's MBD AC for a summer analyst position. The email specifies the internship will be rotational across Equity, Credit, and RE investing and was hoping someone could provide some colour on how to best prepare. Not too sure if there will be a technical aspect which would require me to prepare for questions on all of them or rather the interviews will be more motivational/ personality. The site has been instrumental in being able to reach this far and would very much

I'm a senior in college and don't really want to get into IB and interested in PWM though I don't have much experience to really tell if it's something I want to be "stuck in" (from other posts I've read). I'm currently interviewing for this position at GS and I'm looking for advice on - If it's a good career path - exit ops - any other info I should keep in mind.

I just recently finished my freshman year with just above a 3.7 GPA at a target school and I want to double major in either Math and Economics OR Math and Philosophy (and maybe add a minor if I have time). I'm also involved in 4 organizations on campus, and I'm on a committee for 3 of them. 3 of the orgs are also business related. As I'm going into my sophomore year, I'm curious what exactly I need to do to make myself stand out to most banks and have a shot at the top ones. I'm currently doing a financial services internship so I'm getting experience but I'm also debating if I should take a

According to reports, Goldman Sachs executives are considering acquiring E-Trade Financial Corporation and a possible merger with US Bank. Both deals would be major moves for Goldman, as US Bank now has more than 18 million customers and 3,000 branches, while the retail brokerage E-Trade manages assets worth $346 billion. https://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-eyes-etra…

I've have some decent opportunities at Goldman Sachs but they are ultimately not in the department that I would like to be in. I would love to make it into Equity Research but would their be any opportunities to transfer from one department to the other? Do you see people moving within the same company but to other departments? It would most likely within the GS's controllers division or one of their early career positions where GS places you into the 'right' spot. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Goldman Sachs Early Career Question (Applied through Professional & Student Site) I have a question regarding my application, in case someone might give me some clarity. On October 30, I applied to the Early Careers positions through both the Students site and the Professionals site. Around 1 week after, I was sent the HireVue request/email. Several days after (November 10), the status changed on both the Students-Early Career (to Under Review) and the Professional-Early Career (to Interview). Today (November 15), my applications on the Professional site aren't appearing (the Students-Early

What does the Operations division- Consumer & Investment Management at GS exactly do (how does the day to day schedule look like)? I heard that it's a middle back-office model and there are not much opportunities for growth? Is this division hard to get in? What is the approximate percentage that interns get return offers? And does this division pay a low salary, what is the range of salary we get for GS Ops? Is the Ops division not offered in the SF office? I looked over and it's just available for the SLC office. Any infos would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

As an Econ/Math double major at a university with a target business school, what GPA do I need to get interviews at the elite bulge brackets like Goldman and boutiques like Evercore? I just finished up my freshman year with a 3.74 and I'm involved in 3 orgs on campus (1 finance related and 2 that are not). Would pushing for a higher GPA (3.8 overall) in the semester before recruitment begins really going to help me that much?

Hi guys! I completed my hirevue for GS and received an invite to their virtual session right after. Does anyone know what to expect during this session and, what the interview process will look like from now on? Thanks! Btw: My interview session is for the 1st week in Nov. Trying to gauge who else will be attending.

I know this site obsesses over GS/JPM/MS a lot, but how much "better" are they compared to other BBs (C/CS/BARC/BAML/UBS/DB) on the street regarding (1) culture (2) workload (3) pay (4) structure? Is the difference just blown out of proportion on this site, or are the banks actually a lot more similar than people like to describe? I've heard mixed reviews, where some say it's night and day, others who say most banks give similar experiences. Minus prestige, are "lower-tier" banks really that different from "mid-tier" and "top" banks? Would love to hear from anyone who has experienced both

Hello! I applied to an early career role a few weeks ago and was invited to complete a hirevue shortly after. (My background is in marketing and I am working in higher ed so this was on a whim.) I was really excited to get an hirevue because I would love to transfer into this field. This week I was invited to a Virtual Information Session with GS recruiters in the first week of November. What should I be expecting? Is this a screener process? Is this what would be considered a super day? Or is it really just a "hi, this is what these roles are"? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Goldman's Summer Analyst program provides for the possibility to apply to multiple locations. In what way do I put the address on the Cover Letter in that case? I mean I guess I could write down all three addresses of the three different locations, but that seems redundant to me. Further, I have had contact with one recruiter only, and I guess the Cover Letter will be read by different recruiters in each location. So should I address the Cover Letter to that specific recruiter or rather use a boring and generic phrase like "to whom it may concern"? Because I guess its weird if you are

I applied for both Risk and Operations Summer Analyst positions back in July, but they haven't sent me a HireVue yet. Is anyone else on the same boat or did you get a HireVue yet? (New York Office). They normally send them out by this time and other divisions are already making offers to students.

Deciding between 2 offers: 1. DE Shaw Generalist Internship 2. Goldman Sachs PWM Internship in LA Office Which one should I take? Which one has better exit opportunities/career mobility? I am not set on what I wanna do, not tied to finance either. I don't want to pursue banking.

Do some elite schools such as Goldman, Morgan Stanley, or JPM send some of their professionals back to school at elite universities for professional growth? I've heard some firms reimburse their employee's tuition or even have partnerships with some schools.

Hi everyone, I have applied to both the Operations and Risk Summer Analyst positions at Goldman Sachs, but I am having a hard time understanding their day-to-day and responsibilities. In two days I will have interviews at Morgan Stanley. This will be with the BNS team. Does anyone have tips for this interview? Maybe know some brain teasers? I heard the like to give you really hard calculations, does anyone have experience with this? Think of numbers to the power 3 etc... I will also have interviews at JP and GS, maybe some tips? I am not really a die hard finance girl and I only have the breaking into wall street guide. Maybe some tips for the pymetrics test at JP as well!

I have an interview set up for GS's RMD Asset Management. I am wondering if someone can talk to me about their culture, lifestyle, hours, base+bonus (Associate level), exit opps/promotion opportunities, etc.. I know they recently switched offices to Downtown Dallas. I've seen talk on older threads about growth for RMD but also being absorbed by other groups? I'd like to set the record straight as to this groups future...

I'm curious - McKinsey vs Goldman Sachs - which has better brand recognition? For the average Joe (non business/finance people) 1. In USA 2. In Europe 3. In Asia My impression is that in Europe (except for the UK), McKinsey has better recognition, while in Asia (HK/Singapore/China/India, not sure about the rest), GS does. The deal flow is quite strong in Asia nowadays, while the consulting industry has not caught up with the US/Europe. Not sure about the US. I guess it's GS? As the media may have been talking about GS a lot post financial crisis (so GS has better brand recognition, but in a
