Current Role: Business Development Associate with large healthcare provider, 4YOE, Comp: $85K + $10K Bonus New Role: Associate Banker, JPM Middle Market Commercial Bank. Comp $95K + $15K Bonus. I have been checking my job application status but it still shows "you are under consideration for an interview" , but I have already completed 3 rounds of interviews and a HR also approached to me for my compensation details right after I finish my last round of interview. But 2 weeks have been passed and I heard nothing from JPM... WHAT HAPPEND? Does this mean I am rejected?

Just received a Hirevue Interview for JPM's CIB (Corporate and Investment Bank) for FT as an IB analyst starting in 2022.Was wondering if this analyst position is strictly corporate? Am I ever part of the deals process? For a little background, this position is in LA and I hear deal flow there is almost nonexistent...

I accepted a general IB SA offer in NYC and I have 0 guidance in this. All I know is that M&A is the most "prestigious" but I have several questions and I would appreciate if anybody had answers to any of these... What is the ranking in terms of prestige? What is the ranking in terms of pay/likelihood of large signing bonus bc of deals? Is it easy to switch around divisions? Which groups give the most full time offers? Which are easiest to transition to PE? Which are the best to stay in and work your way up in JPM?

Hi everyone! :) I am a Spanish graduate student attending an Ivy League university in the US (think Wharton/Columbia/Yale) studying finance and economics. I know I want to work in the Buy Side but I am still unsure if I should do AM or PB. I appreciate work/life balance and I would like to work in EU (UK/ Spain/ Switzerland) after graduation. I have two interesting offers for this summer and both have pros and cons, so I am not sure which one to choose, given that both want me to intern with them on July-August. The positions and characteristics are the following: 1. Dodge & Cox -

Hi Monkeys, I recently checked the status of the application portal and it said "You are under consideration for an interview" for my London IBD SA, but I received nothing as of mails from them. Yet my other application for a continental off-cycle internship (same position) is still "Your application is being evaluated" Does that mean anything? Would I receive a sudden call/mail/interview soon? Or it is just the tricks of JPM HR team... This is my first time applying for SA, would like to know more!! Thanks!!

Hi everyone, I just got an invitation for JPM CIB Markets-Trading FT analyst superday and so wanted to post here asking for help. What is the best way to go about preparation to ensure I'm ready for it. If anyone has gone through this before and would be willing to share their experience that would be awesome. Any tips/advice on how to best prepare for it would be appreciated!! Thank you!

[quote]JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) is being sued by a trader who says he accepted a contract from the investment bank because a typographical error made him believe he would be paid 10 times what was actually offered. Kai Herbert, a Switzerland-based currency trader, is suing JPMorgan for about 580,000 pounds ($920,000), his lawyers said at a trial in London this week. The original contract said Herbert's annual pay would be 24 million rand ($3.1 million). JPMorgan blamed the mistake on a typographical error and said the figure should have been 2.4 million rand, according to court documents. [

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone knows what JPM's strongest groups are in HK (in terms of general reputation and exit opps). My personal favorites are M&A and TMT (JPM has its SAs do a two-team rotation), but as an incoming SA, I'm afraid that the competition for return offers will be much tougher in these "sexy" groups. Are my concerns well-founded? Also, is it better to start out in an industry group or product group? Long term goal is PE/VC in Asia.

Due to some changes, I have to ask this question again... Which position better helps for a top MBA schools? Risk advisory position at E&Y Middle-office financial analyst position at JPMorgan in a non-NYC location Are neither of these good positions? You can tell me that too I guess... OP continued at end How to Choose a Job if Aiming for Top 10 MBA Program? Getting into a top business school relies on many factors: GMAT, work experience, networking, extracurriculars, strength of your overall application, etc. As Certified WSO user @djfiii" says, "Any of these options will get you into Top 15

I have an offer from Google for their financial analyst program and an offer from a BB S&T group (BOA, Citi, JPM, Wachovia, etc). The all-in pay is surprisingly very similar. I would be at Google's HQ, but only at a non-NYC location for the BB S&T group. Any thoughts? Which would help me get into a top 5 MBA program? I would really like some feedback from top 5 MBA alums and people who have been in either industry for some time already (if possible). Thanks.

I have the possibility of joining one of the following groups at JP Morgan in London: M&A FIG Natural Resources Industrials TMT I'd be very interested in getting any feedback from someone who might have insight into: +work hours (I'm guessing FIG might have the longest) +amount of modeling done +responsibility early on (I hear the M&A team is pretty young) +transferrable skills for a non-banking position later on (think Capital Markets, this might be the same for all groups though) +size of the group (balance between Senior and Junior people) +anything else that might be helpful in getting a better understanding of them Thanks in advance!

From Chief Investment Officer Thomas J. Feeney (www.Thomasjfeeney.com) [quote]The news of the week was that JPMorgan Chase (JPM), held in esteem by many as the pre-eminent mega-bank, had sorely miscalculated and lost a couple of billion dollars or so on what was characterized as a "hedge." These guys were reputed to be the best and the brightest. If this was a hedge, where are the offsetting profits? You will find that the article was originally written by This debacle was not the work of a single rogue trader. Allegedly, the decisions were made in the Chief Investment Office. Late in the day

Hello! I have the following question regarding the choice of a summer analyst internship for the three roles: Merrill Lynch - IBD JP Morgan - S&T Goldman Sachs - IMD institutional sales I think this is particularly a hard decision as I am very interested in all three of them and each of them carries certain value to the so-called the make-up of the best job "what you are interested in, what you are good at and what has better growth opportunity".

Hi all, I'm a junior just starting to think about a career in finance, and have been trying to learn more, go to recruiting events, etc. Just had a quick question-- how competitive are events like JPM Winning Women, and GS Engineering Summit etc-- basically anything you need to apply for? I applied to both, and was rejected, which is really making me worry. Is this a signal that I need to start looking into something else/ completely revamp my resume (HOW?), or should I just keep plugging forward? Just for reference, my GPA made the cutoffs, but it isn't great. Do you think this played a huge factor? Thanks for any advice.

http://dealbreaker.com/2012/09/JPMorgan-helpfully… Per JPMorgan, regulations that are being phased in will cause 28,241 additional layoffs just among the eight big banks named here – ignoring in particular more banking-focused US names like BAC, C and of course JPM itself – and it will cause a $70k average drop in comp for those who are left, all just to get back to a plausible run-rate of 13% (for "Tier I" DB/GS/Barclays) or 10% (for "Tier II" others) ROEs.

Can someone provide insights on Wedbush Securities (LA)? Specifically their ER dept? What % of summer interns get full-time offers at Wedbush? And what do the exit opportunities look like? Can you transfer into IB later? Can you get into ER at some other top firm (JP, Goldman, etc)? How does the compensation compare to consulting firms?

Hi everyone, I want to get some insights on what exactly does this group do and how are the exit ops from this group (possibility of move to JPM M&A?). Is this a front office position? I got an email saying that I passed the initial screening (which i am assuming is the resume screening) and that I have been invited to take the numerical and logical reasoning tests which I believe I have done quite reasonably well considering I already have a very high LSAT score and have practiced SHLs previously. I was wondering how long JPM takes to get back to you regarding moving on or notifying that you have been disqualified for further advancement in the process? this is for full time IBD position in asia

Since the whole synthetic credit portfolio loss JPM has taken a lot of heat from the press and the government. In my opinion the loss was inconsequential, it will most likely effect one or two quarters earnings at most, but that's not what I am here to talk about. I want to show a senate hearing where Dimon spent an hour under some stress. The way he handled this situation, the way he runs JPM, and his personality are some of the reasons I think JD is the man. This link is a testimony he gave to the senate voluntarily. He stuck to his guns and took responsibility for the trading loss. (from Jun 13) Dimon's senate testimony

Hi guys. Got invited to JPM's London Assessment Centre for S.A. role (Trading) next week. Apparently, it's gonna be virtual and I'm quite clueless about what to expect from it. Anyone in a similar position, or has been through the same process last year/this year? I'd appreciate it if someone can shed light on the format of the entire thingy + mistakes to avoid. Please feel free to post any other tips that would help. If anyone would like to prep together, pm me. Thanks.

Received a few offers for trading desks in equities/fixed income in hk/sg. Here is what I understand now: Equities trading is mostly based out of hk. The location of fixed income desks (rates, credit and forex) depends on the bank, though commodities is mostly in sg. So, Could anybody shed some light on the rationale for choosing between equities/fixed income and hk/sg? More specifically, equities trading desk with Credit Suisse in hk and fixed income trading desk with JPM in sg. Anybody who has experience with these banks in hk/sg please feel free to weigh in and comment on their internship programs and relative strengths of different products/desks. Thanks!

I have to rank my preferences for the Finance Analyst Development SA position from 1-5 (1 being best and 5 last). The functional roles include Planning & Analysis, Accounting/Reporting & Control, Treasury, Business Management, and Investor Relations. Which ranking would be most useful for future exit ops to more of an investment related job? This is what I'm thinking so far: 1) Planning & Analysis - teams are responsible for all facets of planning, reporting and analysis of the full Profit & Loss Statement (P&L) on a global basis. Additionally, P&A partners with senior management across the business to deliver on many of their most important business strategies, growth and development plans.

I have two offers: one from JPM's risk team and another one from Citi's Capital Markets origination. I am having a tough time choosing. I interened with JPM and I like the culture and I see there is much mobility. However, Citi is offering me a great front office role, but doesn't have much deal flow and has little transferable skills

Hey guys, I'm looking into getting an internship in the securities division and am having a tough time differentiating the two groups. Does securities mostly just deal with institutional clients? I'm also wondering what the difference is between the two divisions, how they compare for preparation for ib/st, what exit ops are like, etc. I'm a sophomore and want to know where an internship in JPM securities would rank on the ladder of internahips available for sophs. Thanks a lot

Hi all, I am looking for more color regarding the best groups at JPM London office. Best exposure and best exits. Also, more information regarding the technology and media & telco groups. Recently there have been a few articles floating around about the IB's joint venture with T&SS called the Global Corporate Bank. I know a few articles mentioned that both LOBs will be investing heavily to expand it over the coming years. I wanted to know if any of you had any insight on whether there will be any demand for analyst in this division and if so where would they be coming from (the IB's or T&SS's 2010 analyst program)? Thanks!

I have a couple of questions about JPMorgan analyst programs. First, in regards to the Asset Management business, which is segmented into Investment Management (institutions), Private Bank (ultra net worth) and PWM (high net worth). In comparing PB and PWM, which would be better in terms of skill-set gained, exit opportunities, B-school, etc? My second question is in regards to Tax Exempt Capital Markets, a sub group within the Global Rates, FX, TECM division of the Investment Bank. I was hoping that someone could provide insight into how this entire group, and TECM in particular, compares to tradtional industry or product groups in terms of type of work, hours, training, prestige, exit opps, and such.

Which sophomore summer internship program do you think would better set me up for junior summer and full time employment? The Goldman is Asset Management not pwm just a heads up. Any responses are much appreciated.

1) What exactly did the firm do that made them a 'winner' of the financial crisis? 2) I guess this also applies for other banks, but what resources should I look at to find out what the recent M&A and IPO deals the bank was involved with?

Hi All, Just thought I'd get some opinions over a possible career switch I might have in the offing. I am in Reg Reporting role @ GS and have an opportunity to switch to a Treasury role @ JP Morgan's Corporate and Investment Bank. I was wondering if I can get some opinions as to the merits of the move. Thanks.
