Hi All- I'm working on a side project courtesy of WFH and could really use your input. 5 minutes is all I ask (and while I have no right to your 5 minutes, I greatly appreciate it if you can help me out). * What is this project? A new men's shoe brand (specifics being worked on, currently conducting research) * Why am I doing it? I want to create a great looking dress shoe at an accessible price point with a focus on sustainability * What's the ask? Complete this quick survey about your shoe preferences & recent shopping experience Thanks

Hey guys - I am pulling the trigger and purchasing my first pair of ferragamos. I do not have a pair of good black loafers and looking to step up the wardrobe a bit. I am looking for a nice versatile pair of loafers that I can dress up with a suit if needed, but will primarily be worn with slacks. Let me know which of the below you guys like or if you have any other recommendations (open to other brands as well). Looking to stay sub-$600. Thx http://www.ferragamo.com/shop/en/usa/men/shoes-1/slip-ons-1/-576965--1 http://www.ferragamo.com/shop/en/usa/men/shoes-1/slip-ons-1/-576982--1#…

Anyone else do this? (Not Sperrys btw) And what loafers is this acceptable with? I was thinking a pair of earthy tone or even black loafers with dark jeans for going out. I feel like in the summer time this could be great. Obviously I wouldn't wear these in the office.

We'll start with the shoes and move on to the scotch. I just got a nice pair of loafers and want to keep them up to par. I recently purchased this kit from Brooks Brothers, http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatProductPage.pr… I have no idea where to start with this stuff. It has everything displayed in that pic + 2 little black soft bags that i assume are used to put the brush in. Do I put the black shoe cream on a towel and rub it on the shoe and then use a brush?

Thought this were mainly meant for older people, but as a SA, I would see other SAs and Analysts wearing them (usually Ferragamos or Gucci) What do you think about them? They're pretty expensive... around $500

I have a gift certificate to JCPenney's and I want to snag a pair of decent loafers to accompany my only other pair of dress shoes: some nice black J&M oxfords. I dig the tassels, and these Florsheim's are what I believe are the best quality available at the online Penney's store: http://www.florsheim.com/shop/style/18469.html and http://www.florsheim.com/shop/style/17090.html I am planning to get the burgundy color in either shoe. Which one looks more dressy and conservative in your opinion? Why? If it helps I have one navy suit, one charcoal suit, and one navy blazer with plenty of different slacks. Thanks!

Which suit would be better for finance? http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Penny-Loafers/MH000… (I've a 15% discount so it'd only be #363) or http://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/mens-shoes/loaf…

Hello, I currently own a pair of Allen Edmonds Verona II loafers and was able to try them on in a store before purchasing so their size 11 fits me perfectly. I am looking at purchasing a pair of Gucci 1953 horsebit loafers online, and due to logistics, I can not try these on in-person. I see mixed opinions online of Gucci's sizing but I know that these two are both popular models here so I was wondering if someone could help clear up the sizing issue. If I am an 11D in Allen Edmonds Verona II, what size would I be in the 1953 bits? Thanks, DartboardAnalysis

hey guys, any specific loafer recommendations for a FT IBD incoming analyst? i'm at one of the more conservative banks (BarCap, MS, etc) but don't know how conservative my group is. to be honest i'm not really a fan of the horsebit, so i was looking at: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/product_6507… and http://www.johnstonmurphy.com/product.aspx?c=1216… obviously open to any other suggestions you have (that AE is pricey...)

I recently bought a pair of the Montecito penny loafer from Allen Edmonds. I have pretty wide feet, particularly at the top of the foot (due to bunions on my big toe), so i ordered the wide size (E), which accommodates my foot in other brands like Cole Haan and Johnston & Murphy. However, with Allen Edmonds, their "wide" size seems to apply only to the body of the shoe (the part from the base of the toes to the heel), and not to the front (where i need the extra width). So not only is the front way too tight, but also the body of the shoe fans out a bit around the opening, where the extra width is. Normally i would try to break them in, but they fit my foot so poorly that i'm not going to hold out hope.

I searched around and never got an answer that seemed definitive: I'm entering my third year at NYU, and have scheduled meetings and hopefully will be involved in super-days. I really really REALLY love the feel and comfort of loafers but am worried they may be too casual. I currently can't buy both so I have to choose. My choices have narrowed down to: http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet… (Both black) Or http://www.menswearhouse.com/webapp/wcs/stores/se…

Hey Monkeys, I have a quick fashion inquiry regarding good loafer brands for those not ready to buy at the Ferragamo/Gucci level yet. I'm a Summer Analyst at a bank where, as sad as this may seem to some of you, people notice what others are wearing. (Some of you may not believe me, but I could tell stories, hilarious stories the likes of which would make LSO cry tears of joy - I'm not going to though because that just might give away the bank.) Anyway, the Nordstrom Men's sale is coming up and I'm looking to invest $150-$250 in a decent pair of loafers. I'm not trying to have something flashy, just a pair that won't stick out for negative reasons. I'm also looking for a pair that I can use a million times without looking too bad afterwards.

Looking to expand my shoe selection with the addition of a pair of black tasseled loafers. I really like both of these Church's loafers, but would appreciate a bit of input on which people prefer. Notably I can't travel to try these on, so if any current owners have sizing comparisons with AE / Gucci / Tod's that would be helpful as well. Option (1) Option (2)

Recently got these as a gift and was wondering if they are okay to wear to networking events and information sessions? I am still in college and don't want it to seem like I spend all my money on shoes. I got them in the brown. What do you guys think? http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF49600_1_40000000001_-1

What do you guys think about the below loafers? I found the dark brown on sale for $200 and they fit great. My shop is business casual so i think they would be okay for work and versatile enough to wear out at night. What does everyone think? Would be a definite yes if they were the black but the brown is extremely dark in real life and somewhat difficult to tell that it is not black http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF4…

Hey guys. So I'm looking to buy a new pair of shoes since I just started working full time. I already have a pair of AE Strands in Walnut, but I feel they pop a little more than I want to at the office. These are the choices I narrowed down to. The Tod's are pricier, but they feel a lot more sturdy and are good for when it rains/snows. I feel like I can't go wrong with AE lace ups though. Both shoes would be in dark brown. Let me know what you guys think. http://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/tods-boston-penny-l… http://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/mens-shoes/dres…
