Hi to whoever may be reading this I am 16 years old and I recently got introduced to investing and quickly realized to succeed in this world you need to invest so you can make money and the sad part is that I have no idea what I'm doing and I would like to have a mentor take me under their wing and teach me to become a better version of yourself.

Hi, I'm thinking of transferring into a top tier school like Cornell for econ major, and at the same time I'm also looking for internships that will help place me in the IB. I have been debating which route I should take. Here are some options, so which one would you consider for internship if you are determined to go into IB? McKinsey - strategy consulting Big 4(PwC) - private equity audit An unknown crypto asset hedge fund - financial analyst In addition, because I am looking into the Econ major at Cornell and a few other top-tier schools, which one of the above do you think that will help

Recently received an offer from a Bulge Bracket/Elite Boutique Investment Bank and a first-round interview at MBB. I am sure the MBB is the better choice. I think it will be better to tell them but should I/how do I mention that I got a BB/EB offer? I believe the pro for telling them is that it will differentiate me from the pack and they will know I am a strong candidate and are more likely to give me a Final Round even if I am not amazing in my case interview. The con is that they will question my story, how much I want consulting. How do I navigate this part of my story correctly?

Hello guys, I am new here and I was wondering if you have any advice on how I can make a transition from consulting to investment banking or sales & trading. Currently, I work as a business analyst in a Big 4 company in Greece and before that, I was working in an investment firm in the sales & trading department. For the past few months, I have been busting my head on how I can make work such a transition. All my applications so far have been unsuccessful on the grounds that my profile does not match the job requirements. One potential route that occurred to me was sitting the CFA exams, but

Hey everyone, been a long time reader of the WSO forums but posting for the first time. I've recently been offered a place in the MPhil Management programme at Cambridge and the MSc Finance programme at LSE. I'd like to hear your opinions on which programme would be better for consulting recruitment. A little bit of background about myself - Currently doing an engineering degree at a top 5 uni in the UK - on track for a 1st - Have internships in VC and a fintech scale-up under my belt - Joining a tier 2 strategy consulting house in the summer for an internship **Some concerns and

Hi all, I'm a current senior at a top-tier university (HYPS) who recently received an offer at TFA for post-graduation. In the past, I worked a summer analyst role at a large PE firm ($45B AUM) and an associate consultant role at a well-known non-profit. Similar to others who have posted on this subject before, I believe I would learn a lot from the experience but am concerned about my ability to transition out of TFA and back into the private sector. I've been told by many advisors at TFA that moving back into business is a plausible option, but the stats tell me otherwise. According to TFA

Hi all, I was wondering how many of you made the move from investment banking to non-finance sector. Why did you make such moves and do you enjoy the work you are doing now? What I am talking about could be both direct moves or career transition after getting a master or mba after banking. I am interested in policy-related work, so I am thinking about joining policy consulting firms, NGOs, think tanks, or international organizations such as the IMF and World Bank. I understand it may be hard to make this transition if you only have an undergrad degree. So I am considering getting an MBA or MPP

Hi guys! I'm currently working with BCG's Knowledge and Analytics team in the Private Equity practice area. I wanted to know more about the possible routes to move to front end consulting or investment banking. If I work and then go for my MBA to a top B school outside my home country (I'm currently in India), is it possible to be placed in front end MBB or IB? I'm also a CFA level 1 candidate. My target schools are Oxford, cambridge, LBS and NUS.
