Is ER to SM HF Impossible?
Ok, obviously its not impossible, but everyone on this forum suggests one way or another that its either IB or nothing. Current Sr. Assoc/VP Recruiting Pipeline
How's the recruiting pipeline for Sr. Associate / VP or any post-MBA roles? I know there was a post a few months back, but it seemed to indicate pipeline was quite dry. Any updates? For me (in US) it's been quite slow. Some random opps here and there.

Buying your way into a PE/VC/GE job by investing 1M (GBP/EUR/USD)??
I understand not every A3, when they are 24/25, has $1-1.5M or any similar amount in the UK or Europe. But what if I have 3 years of IBD experience from a BB and have $1-1.5M disposable ready to invest. My question: is it possible to hit up mutual funds or MM funds and say I am willing to invest but...

What is a Megafund?
People on this forum seem to frequently double down on “knowing” MF PE is what they want their future role to be. However, I have a pretty simple question for the forum that no one seems to be able to answer: What firms are megafunds? Why? Do you go by AUM? Investing Strategy? In my banking...

Hi everyone, thank you in advance for the help with this question. I am in the middle of an LBO model test, and Notes Payable is a large portion (~25%) of long-term liabilities. Curious if I should i) leave this figure as is for the projection period (and maybe sum into 'Other Non-Current...
Private equity case study question. Invoice data to revenue build.

Is private equity really better than investment banking?
I currently work at a boutique LMM investment bank doing sell-side M&A work. I'm a bit unique in that I did not come up through the classic finance route (analyst to associate > to VP). I was a former startup CEO and 15 yr exec with an exit under my belt so I stepped into an MD role right away. Now...

I have been at an MBB for less than a year and am getting hit up by headhunters in PE. Trying to decide if I should grind to get and perform in PE interviews or just let it be. LBO Model Question - Debt Schedule Cash Sweep
In an LBO, we typically assume a 100% cash sweep to reduce future interest expense. Why is this not dividend out to shareholders yearly instead? Cost of equity > cost of debt - so logically we should dividend this out?
RE Model - Cash Sweep
I noted in RE models cash sweep doesn't apply (as compared to normal LBO models). Any explaination to why is this is the case?
Private Equity LBO vs Real Estate LBO
What are the main differences between both models?
Debt Schedule in RE
Compared to a typical LBO where excess cash is used to paydown debt during the hold period, I noticed RE LBO models do not do this. Is a 100% cash sweep not a thing in Real Estate models?
Hotel LBO Model
I have a 1 hour test Hotel LBO modelling coming up Anyone has Hotel LBO models and is willing to share? I have some PE case studies and can trade. Do let me know
Using Under-Market Comp as a Reason to Move Jobs in Interviews
I work for a LMM PE firm at the mid-level and am undercompensated relative to market by ~30%, even after factoring in fund size. This is on both a carry and cash comp basis. I've made several attempts to ask them to bridge the gap and pointed to my contributions to the firm, what 'market' is, etc,...
