I've found this website to be immensely helpful throughout college and the beginning of my banking career. I thought I would return the favor by having an informative discussion around the current elite boutique landscape in the U.S. (although EB bankers elsewhere feel free to chime in). I think it's fair to say that EBs are becoming increasingly popular choice for undergrads going into finance, especially at target schools. For context, I'm a former EB analyst who spent two years there before leaving for private equity. My initial thoughts here obviously reflect my experience, but they're

Curious to hear what the buy-side recruiting situation is at PWP. I know PE exits were discouraged in the past, but have heard that senior management is somewhat more supportive these days. How true is that?

Most of the info I could find online is outdated so just wanted some insight - Just curious about which industry groups they are strong in Europe - why them over PJT/EVR/CVP? - what are the stand out points in terms of culture - How strong are their restructuring group? Thanks in advance

'Perella Weinberg Partners, the investment bank founded by Joe Perella and Peter Weinberg, is seeking to pursue a long-awaited public listing through merging with a blank-check firm' (via Bloomberg) Thoughts?

Ok I am actually a year 3 student who is actually able to graduate by end of June this year (7 courses in winter and 3 1 month intensive courses in May). I have actually accepted Barclays IBD NYC for full time but since I was worried that I may fk up my heavy course load and not graduate on time I proceeded to go for summer internships... Surprisingly, I have an offer from a top notch boutique (LAZ/BX/PWP) in NYC for SA... It's been pretty hardcore taking 7 courses right now but I know I can graduate on time if I want to.. However, I know LAZ/BX/PWP is a notch above Barcap in terms of PE exits...so my question to you is, should I just graduate 1 year later so I can start off at a better shop? Or is it better to start in IBD early at Barcap?

There's a ton of IB restructuring rankings that seem to be all over the map. Instead of ranking the groups, it'd be way more helpful if some rx vet's could talk about each of the less covered teams' main qualities: reputation, exit opps, management, growth trajectory, recent mandates, etc. Guggenheim Centerview Ducera Partners PWP Rothschild Jefferies Piper Jaffray TRS Advisors

Curious to see how BB Analyst Class sizes compare to boutiques given how much boutiques have grown in the past years. Especially interested in numbers from PWP and Evercore. For the 2016 Analyst class, Moelis has 24 in NY and 8 in LA

Hi Chaps, Got a lateral coming up for PWP London, A1-3. Looking for input on interview specifics to PWP and anything with regard to PWP in London would be superb. Obviously I've got tech Qs covered off, but mainly looking for style, brain teasers and approach. Again, cognizant of the fact that it depends on who's on the opposite side of the table, but humor me. Cheers, GGB p.s. saw this (http://www.wallstreetoasis[dot]com/forums/ perella-weinberg-partner-london-2nd-round) thread, it doesn't offer much

Does anyone have any info on Perella Weinberg's SF office? I've heard a little about the NY and London offices, but it doesn't look like SF has been doing any deals. I know the office was just started about 18 months ago or so, and sometimes it can take a while to get things through the pipeline. But many tech offices have opened up around the same time and have worked on some pretty compelling deals (Qatalyst advised on Data Domain/ EMC, Brocade/Foundry; Allen recently broke into the consumer web space; even Union Square has done a few). Am really looking to pursue something with the firm, so

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knew the Perella Weinberg email format? According to this forum it's [email protected] ([email protected]) but I tried that for several people I found on linkedin and they all bounced. Has Perella updated their email address format/what is the correct one?

Heard from friend that you need to submit a weekly timesheet at Perella Weinberg to the staffer on the projects you are working on each week and the estimated time spent on each. As a result, many analysts don't want to "overbook" their hours and end up killing themselves and go beyond their staffing capacity (ie. 90 hours on paper turns into 120+ hours actually worked). Anyone else think this is a stupid system? Also, please confirm that headhunters are completed fended off and analysts do not have access to exit opps. Thanks.

Which offer would you take in an analyst position between MS and Boutiques like Greenhill, Lazard, PWP, Moelis or Evercore? Would it really depend on which group at MS you got placed into? I feel that there are some groups at MS that would be much more prestigious than at boutiques but if you don't get placed into the right group that the boutiques would be better.

Hi fellow monkeys, Fortunately, I got offers from PWP Asset Management side, and also from GS Asset Management side. Perella Weinberg Partners (PWP) offers me a position to be in the small team managing a new fund in the firm. Doing quantitative research, implementing models, proposing investment ideas. On the other hand, in GSAM FI Strategist position, I think I will make infrastructure for PMs working there. Which one would you choose? Thanks in advance!
