What investment banking book would you recommend to learn the technicals? From what I have gathered, Rosenbaum is the Bible of IB but maybe lacks some Excel models and remains too theoretical. I have also heard that Financial Modeling and Valuation by Paul Pignataro is also really good as it allows you to learn while applying the knowledge to actual case studies and takes you step by step. Which one do you recommend? Any other suggestion is also welcome.

Hello WSO, I'm a student at a target university and want to learn more about finance and investing fast. I don't know much as the only thing I have been doing is reading certain articles/publications on WSJ and Seeking Alpha. What books did you guys use to teach yourself accounting/finance/investing/trading? I have some "for dummies books" but I'm not sure if they're the best.

I am a freshman at a target school who wants to learn more about investment banking. I am not in the business school at my university, although I am trying to transfer into it at the moment. I have a very basic understanding of what Investment Banking is. To put it in perspective, I could tell you the difference between each sector of Investment Banking (M/A, Capital Markets, S&T, and Asset Management) but not much more. WSO recommends the book written by Josh Rosenbaum and Josh Pearl -* Investment Banking: Valuation, Leveraged Buyouts, and Mergers and Acquisitions.* Would you guys say getting

I am an incoming sophomore at a target school in the UK (Accounting & Finance major). I am currently applying for SA positions at BB's in London, and I have been using the following resources to prepare for technical interviews: 1. Investment Banking (Rosenbaum) 2. BIWS modelling course 3. M&I 400q's guide Is there any other resource that could be useful, or would I be better off just focusing on these three (for technicals)? Thanks :)

Hey all - I think everyone knows the great Rosenbaum book for IBD. Does anyone know if there is a similar resource for venture capital/startup funding? About cap tables, etc. Thank you in advance for any ideas.

There are seemingly huge differences in the complexities of the models provided with Rosenbaum and Pearl and from Macabacus.com. For example the lbo model from Rosenbaum is a few hundred rows spread over several worksheets but the LBO from Macabacus is 1623 rows. Which model is more inline with what is used in IBD? (If it is the Macabacus, do analysts understand all of the intricacies found in 1600 rows?)

I just bought the 1st edition and when I went the website for their models, it said they took them down for the 2nd version. Does anyone have a version of those models that they can send me? I don't want to spend another $90 to get the models that should have come with the book.

Hey guys, Does anyone have the Rosenbaum M&A model (template and completed) that they created for the 2nd edition? Can someone send them to me? Heard that one is really helpful. Thanks a lot in advance.
