Who's Playing the M&A Game?
Big hat tip to @"TheKing" for tipping me off to this one. This becomes the most downloaded iPhone app by WSO monkeys in history in 3...2...1...
The game was created by Ansarada, a company in the virtual data room space. For those not involved in mergers and acquisitions, a data room is a secure location where a target company can disclose sensitive information to a potential buyer or buyers. In the old days (and still today), it was an actual room. Ansarada moved the concept online, and now M&A guys using their service can access a data room from anywhere.
The game looks pretty cool, and I can see the leaderboard getting out of hand pretty quickly. The thing is, I'm not sure it's available to play yet. Can anyone confirm/deny? I couldn't find it in the App Store, but then I'm not an Apple guy so I don't really know what I'm doing (Android is so good it just automatically pulls up whatever I'm thinking about at the moment).
I'd love to hear if any of you guys have played / are playing this, or if it's still in beta.
It's about time we got an Angry Birds Wall Street.
Not gonna lie, I think this is awesome. The ad tried way too hard, though. God.
Big ass ad...
I still prefer to piss off the buyers analysts by storing all sorts of antiquated data on paper in some freezing cold room in the middle of no where.
haha that video:
I signed up on the site to get an email when the game launches. I think it could actually be interesting, assuming it's a global game and not just a one-player mode type of thing. Competing with people all over the place could be fun. The thinking man's World of Warcraft, or something like that.
I wonder how sophisticated the game is...can't be that detailed or it would take all the fun out.
How long until we get kids listing this on their resume.
" * Scored in the 91% on the M&A Game for Q2 2014"
They wouldn't be part of the 1%. Why should I hire them? ;-)
Also - the Keep Calm & Love M&A picture cracked me up, big time.
I read about this the other day. I think it launches next week.
Awesome!
I started coding again a month ago and just began designing a competitive M&A simulator a few days ago. Nothing like getting edged out of the market before you even start. I'm sure this game is going to be kickass though. Finally something intelligent I can play with my intelligent friends.
Whats the over under on the amount of time before the app is flooded with idiots wanting to "M&A the shit out of dem ho'es"
Full disclosure -- I work for ansarada (if you couldn't tell by the user name... der.) The app is set to come out next week as far as I know. Great to see it generating some buzz! :)
Dude, this is pretty awesome. Occasionally I suffer withdrawal from the M&A world - this seems like the perfect remedy. Where can I sign up? :(
I've always thought you could modify Monopoly wonderfully for banking, like being able to borrow from the banker etc.
The thought was so beautiful I almost cried.
So gonna play this
I was wondering how the 'game' aspect would work, but this is really cool. I tried to Google for more info but I wasn't seeing anything... has anyone else found out more about this?
The game launches January 16th!
Thanks for the update! Is there a website or anything associated with just the game for more info about it or do we just have to wait and find out?
iLike the fact they had an Audi in the ad
is it on droid?
Looks like it could actually be some fun.
So what is the actual name of the app? "M&ADE" or something else?
Wow I like this...if its as good as it looks in the ad I'm all in.
Download M&ADE > Bus > Audi > Aston > Yacht > Helicopter > ???? > Profit!
Jokes aside, very smart marketing move by Ansarada. It'll give them a ton of exposure to all the analysts and associates that are responsible for choosing data room providers. If this is any good, they'll always be top of mind and will probably end up far cheaper than the T&E budgets for the existing VDR sales reps.
Lol good video
Picked up by Buzzfeed: http://www.buzzfeed.com/josephbernstein/what-happens-when-a-finance-com…
i dunno... i feel like the last thing i want to be doing outside of work is playing some game created by my VDR provider...
The game Wall Street Raider has been around for over a decade (with new versions released annually-ish) and is still enjoyable.
Awesome
Found the website http://www. ansarada. com/ma-game-video
Will this game also be available on Android?
And i am using a BB Q10..
Lol, I need to get better at this game!
lol I gave up after a while. The game mechanics are still a little too obscure for my liking. Will probably return once they've refined it a bit. I made it to 1B by the end of the day but it got a little repetitive after a while :/
After playing this game on my iPad for 2 days I have gotten bored from it. Anyone else?
There needs to be more things you can do after you've bought a company to help improve the value while you're waiting for the time to pass in-game. It's pretty cool, but I hope they expand on it.
