I used to watch ESPN for good highlights and gossip about what is going on in the sports world. Now I don't watch it because I cannot handle the pundits analyzing every statement by athletes like they are politicians and possess some sort of Prudential wisdom about how our country ought to be run.

I agree with what you're saying about 30/30's (even though they often do still have some sort of left leaning narrative, but that's ok) and live sports. At the same time - I don't even want to give them my business because of how they inject politics into everything else. I would rather not watch the sporting event just to not give them my business.

The real issue with ESPN is that they have favored the "hot take" over thoughtful sports journalism. They've tried to create a 24/7 sports news cycle by having these talking heads spout wild bombastic takes on utter nonsense. "Does Lonzo Ball winning the Summer League MVP make him better than Jordan?!"

The one bright spot is Sportcenter @ Midnight with SVP. He provides thoughtful commentary compared to his counterparts.

Day 1 take: "Why should we keep giving LaVar Ball attention he clearly wants??" Day 2 take: "LaVar Ball claims to be better than Jesus, himself. True or False???"

Oh and the Colin Kap thing they keep pushing is beyond annoying at this point. Every Single Day, they try to push how crazy it is and irresponsible for all of the teams to not sign the guy. We get it, ESPN. No need to shove it down our throats.
