Evercore SA 2021
Evercore opened their SA 2021 applications weeks ago and on their online portal it says they will be closing them in May, with interviews commencing in April.
For SA 2020 they didn't open their applications until much closer to the summer. I'm pretty concerned about there hyper-accelerated timelines. What are chances of getting in as a non-target? The profiles I see on linkedin are literally all target schools (think HYP, columbia, uchicago, cornell). I'm trying really hard to network a lot with the firm and hope for the best.
I wanna know everyone's takes on this accelerated recruiting process for SA 2021.
Can someone please confirm (reliable or primary source) if you can apply for both M&A and Rx at Evercore?
Why not?
I have a close personal friend who recruited for both and in the end an Rx 1st year analyst found out and essentially cut him out of both processes. I think this was a fluke incident because prior to this analyst he was open about it, but just be wary
I'm the same person as above^. I would also note that despite going to a well known state school that places poorly in NYC, every year we have a few people interview there and have convert 50% of them (granted we do have a c-suite member of the firm from my school). I also went to a networking event through my school there and I would say that they do specifically make sure to recruit kids from state schools with high GPAs - networking is ultra key though
I don't really understand the takeaway here. So you can logistically (physically able to) apply for both processes and get interviews, but there are cases in which people are upset about you doing so (in one case, your friend was disqualified from both processes)? So the takeaway is to not do it?
I recruited for both RX and M&A at an EB, they found out immediately and asked me in my interview, "What do you actually want to do?" I tried to explain my interest in both (reasonable, I think, as a college sophomore with no IB experience) but the interview went south and I was not invited for a 2nd round.
Yes, talked to someone in charge of EVR recruiting for my school who said you can apply for and get first round for both.
Just to confirm - but not superday?
You can only have one super day in NYC - M&A or Rx. You can apply to both but you'll only get one super day offer. Tbh applying to both is a bad look
Evercore from my understanding has always been target heavy. I from reading threads during last summer, you need to network for a first round. The person you talk with refers you.
what about firms like Moelis and Lazard?
I can't say. Honestly, I'd just go back and read the threads for each bank. I'm sure a lot of the question's you asking here were asked on the older posts.
Anybody know Rx class size? For SA and FT?
Dunno. But it's supposed to be bigger than last year (that's what analysts I spoke with said).
I've heard 10 for FT
can confirm
For 2020 I think they opened apps on July 1st, the fact that apps are open already probably means a lot of banks that did the pushed back recruiting last cycle are going to acclerate
Anyone can echoe why the timeline is accelerated again? For last year as I remember Citi was the only BB that did spring recruiting and all the rest did their regular diversity thing in Spring as well. How will the reversal of timeline to prior standard affect recruiting for the sophomores?
No most places were accelerated last year the earliest BBs being Citi, RBC, and Barclays. Shops like Evercore, JPM, and GS were the exceptions who decided to push back and it wasn't until the late summer and early fall that they did non-diversity recruitment.
Depends how much of a non target you are. They hired 2 Ohio state kids for SA2020.
Anyone have an updated timeline for Evercore recruiting (first rounds and Superdays)
First rounds in April, superdays April-May according to my campus presentation
target?
I got an invitation to a first round today as a non-target and non-diversity. I've seen a few others on this thread also heard back today.
when did u submit ur app? rx or m&a?
first round m&a and offer from rx. rx is rolling from what HR told me
Did anyone else get invited to the virtual Restructuring Diversity Summit? From the email it seems to be an informational event, especially given the nature of video call. I’d imagine the benefit of this event prior to COVID-19 was the networking part. Does anyone know if this event helps in terms of the interview process in any way? Maybe at least gets you on their radar? Thanks.
Haven’t heard back, did they say when the event is?
Yes. Next week Thurs. Details are not available at this time. The email just asked for an RSVP, and explained it will be virtual.
I got the invite. Just curious, did you RSVP by replying to the email or emailing the recruiter directly? I'm a bit anxious because I didn't get a reply to my RSVP.
I replied directly to the email. It should be the same thing as it was sent by the person you're supposed to respond to. I also didn't get a reply yet. Rereading the original email it looks we will receive more info anytime before Wed, Mar 25. Hope that helps. Was wondering if you have any insight into my original question btw? Is this mainly supposed to be informational in nature, or is it one of those programs that accelerates your interview process?
Bump
Does anyone know if Evercore is doing recruiting separately for target and non-target like the BBs are?
bump

Anyone has insights into the women's program? Is there a guaranteed first-round? I got invited earlier but was cancelled due to COVID-19.
no guaranteed first round :(
Wow they are moving faster this year even with the virus. Guess waiting till August last year didn’t go so well for them considering JPM and MS were even handing out offers before they even had superdays. The race for talent is real.
When did MS go last year? For targets and non-targets?
I was wondering if anyone is applying to their sales and trading position? is it a legit one comparing to other bbs?
anybody have any insight on ISI ER timeline? Talked to an alumni who said it wasn't till fall last year, but they were looking to move up this year, wondering if anyone has heard anything.
I'm a non-target who is networking hard with analysts and associates at Evercore. Submitted my application about a month ago and havent heard anything. I know the diversity event recently occurred (im not diversity). Has anyone received word or been contacted by Evercore?
at a target, non diversity hasn’t really started (RX is soon I believe) so I wouldn’t be too worried yet!
If you have been networking with them, didn't they inform you of the timeline?
I go to a target and I'm diversity, had a phone screen last week and had a first round today
Were you part of their diversity program?
yup, the fly in program got cancelled but everyone attending automatically got a coffee chat
I'm assuming this is for generalist m&a and not rx?
yep
how did the first round go?
How did the first round go?
Not gonna lie, it was by far the most technical and difficult interview I have had so far, but I expected that. Its defo not enough just to know the M&I 400, they really push you to show your conceptual understanding. Its about a 65-35 split between techs to behavioral and the behaviorals were pretty standard.
Was it a lot of math/number- based qs? I heard they go pretty hard on accretion/dilution and LBO material
If anyone hears back from the diversity superday that was today, please post.
Also, anyone know the average time it typically takes to hear back from Evercore?
superday or first round?
Superday
Hey, just had Evercore diversity superday as well. Waiting nervously.
How were your first rounds and superdays? V technicaL?
Evercore moves pretty fast. I've heard of people having their superdays in the morning and then getting their offer in the afternoon. Others having their superday in the afternoon and getting their offer the next morning.
.
Is this part of the diversity seminar but not the women's program?
Did you get contacted after the online Women's program for a first round interview?
Anyone have any updates on RX timeline? I participated in their RX diversity event and haven't heard anything yet.
first rounds are out from what I heard
Ah feels bad. Any chance of there being more waves of invites?
Are you talking about for diversity or for all applicants? And source?
Can you keep me posted? I also attended the Rx diversity event, as well as networked. But I didn't get a first round yet either.
Heard from analyst that M&A and RX interviews in April are for diversity alone. Non-diversity start in May.
Incorrect. First round, general pool phone screens starting to come out today (in waves).
Source? And do you know when they might finish up recruitment?
source ?
Does it hurt to wait off on applying until you feel completely ready for the technicals, or is waiting until teh end of april/may a bad idea
Agreed. Got first round invite for RX on Saturday evening.
Are there move waves this week?
Source? The person involved in recruitment said first round waves for all applicants were sent out this week.
anyone know their S&T SA timeline?
Has anyone been invited for first round?
not me and I'm at a target and networked pretty heavily
Did you network with a lot of people or few quality ones
In past couple of years, has anyone gotten invited for an Evercore Interview by just submitting an online application as a Non-target student?
Has anyone heard anything from the Menlo Park office in terms of recruiting timeline for the M&A group?
Has anyone been invited for M&A first round?
Did you hear anything about it?
Diversity?
Non-diversity
Bump
Spoke to someone involved in the recruiting process over the weekend. According to them, first rounds should happen in the next couple of weeks for M&A. But I might be wrong.
Has anyone heard from the M&A superday last Friday?
Was it diversity?
yeah diversity
I haven't. :( Someone else above claims they heard back on Saturday, though.
Hopefully we both hear back soon! The waiting is so hard. :(
Just got off the first-round phone interview this morning with rx group. Unclear about next steps as of now. Seems like they are trying to figure out how to conduct video superdays.
how technical
three technical questions and one qualitative.
two of the three technical questions involve three statements linking, but they are pretty brilliant in mixing some capital structure and debt problems within those questions. Third question was pretty straightforward, even middle-school students could figure it out. But I was overcomplicating the last one lol.
Be sure you say your thought process out load.
was your RX phone screen technical or mostly behavioral?
Nevermind, I saw the rest of the thread
Have you heard back from the RX first round? I interviewed this week as well but haven't heard anything since
I haven't but I think superday is in next week.
Does anyone know how many rounds Evercore has before the super day?
two phone interviews. Known to be super technical.
So have people already heard about first rounds for M&A? Also target or non-target
Non-Diversity First Rounds?
I am non target, female and got a first round for RX even though I didn't get into the women's program. Not sure about M&A, but the recruiter told me that RX starts earlier
Has anyone who goes to a non-target but networked a decent amount heard about a first round yet?
Just wanted to throw in a word of motivation - if things don't work out it's certainly not the end of the world. You've always got a shot at FT recruiting (start thinking about doing some light networking right before your junior summer) and if not there is definitely a place that will make you just as happy. Banking isn't everything, but best of luck regardless!
Does anyone have any updates regarding Evercore M&A for NY? Anyone received any phone screens?
So just to confirm, do you know if non-diverity m&a first round invites came out?
I do not. That's why I was asking
Have a friend going target. He applies to RX but was told from his connection at the firm saying it will be sent on 13rd.
But cannot confirm it's true or not til we all hear back officially.
I hope this is true otherwise its just going to suck.
probably true since if the superday tmr doesnt convert into offers, they will send more first-rounds
Any updates regarding M&A first rounds for non-diversity in NY?
I havent heard anything yet either. Non-target tho
Heard rumors that some emails went out today for M&A 1st rounds, can anyone verify this?
Deleted
first rounds are out, might be a second wave
Can confirm that M&A were sent out at least at my semi-target school. My friends and I who have applied for RX still have not heard anything, so we have our fingers crossed.
