Which EBs have the nicest offices and perks?
Bored during quarantine so thought we could get a light discussion started on which EB has the nicest physical presence.
List the EB, office location and office perks (number of floors, open space, cafeteria, free snacks, gym in building, etc.). I'm at a BB in NYC, whose offices are old and in need of some TLC, so seeing who all have it better haha
Not an EB as a whole, but the group is top tier. I've heard HL RX gets $70 a day for meals so they can split that between lunch and dinner
If you maxed that out 300 days out of the year that's an extra $21k of value... Do you know which offices this is for?
rx
it’s more than 21k - it’s like making 35k more salary. you have to look at it on a pre tax basis
HL FRG gets $85 in NY for the day, not 70. Pretty sure this spans across all locations - but only for rx and not M&A
Found the incoming HL RX intern
what are you even eating with $85 per day?
What banks have gyms in house?
Gugg has their own. Think GM Building (so PWP would be the EB there), has a gym in it as well
PWP has its own gym just for firm use
GHL has a gym
GHL?
LOL random topic, but curious to hear responses. Have heard Evercore's NYC offices are a little drab - nice location in Blackrock building though. Read somewhere that they recently expanded their lease (+300K sq/ft) and have a decent number of floors now
Was in their office last year - although pretty much just in the conference room - but damn was it nice. PWP also was very nice
That newish conference room spot on the top floor is by far the nicest spot in the Evercore building
Do you happen to know which floors of the GM building PWP occupies?
Lazard is beautiful (Rockefeller Plaza)
Have heard this too but never visited! What about their office makes it beautiful? Would imagine 30 Rock is a pain with all the tourists tho :p
one of the nicest views out of any bank. it’s like 70 floors up
As a former analyst, can confirm! 64 is the client floor and banking groups have a few floors directly below with an interconnecting staircase. North side overlooks Central Park and south side has great views of the city
Agree! Amazing views to enojoy at 3 am with a line of coke and some addy
Sounds like you're overdoing it a bit there. One of those should be able to get you through the night.
it’s so high up and inside it looks like the prestige you could imagine
yea can confirm, Lazard currently operates ~8-10 floors in Rockafeller --- heard they are trying to decrease it due to Flexibility around WFH
but their floors are all located high up on the building so you have amazing views of the city....truly amazing
UBS has a swimming pool...of money
Lazard's is not only 30 Rock, but offices are at the top. Great views of Central Park from a few of the conference rooms.
Small windows though... i joke but it's true, gorgeous mahogany wood everywhere was tiny windows in every room
That's the problem with the old buildings, they always have tiny windows. I never understand when all the NIMBYrs complain about glass skyscrapers... I'd rather have great light and views. I'm taking this topic a different direction I know, but it's a fair observation.
PJT's is niceee too. A lot of white marble, but I dig it. Good location at 280 Park (just expanded to another floor), and they have that interconnecting staircase which I'd rather take any day instead of getting on an elevator to get to the next floor
Yeah never thought of this until now, but why do bankers love this interconnecting staircase? I've seen it at a couple shops (PJT, PWP), I'm sure some others have it too. Is it for easier access or maybe higher security (can't drop documents in an elevator, for example)?
Curious which other banks have this?
Makes it easier to get around the office lol
at my old MM we had the 23 and 24 floors, everyone loved the interconnecting staircase cuz we didn't need to wait for the lift
Not banking of course but Warburg has and incredible glass-encased staircase right in the middle of their office
At PJT we have nearly everything made by famous designers haha, we are literally the most luxurious bankers on the street
relax with the "we", intern
*Incoming Insight Day Analyst
PJT has like a 90% offer rate, let the man be proud
Just curious but which firm is PJT?
LMAO
Evercore and Rothschild offices in London are kinda nice
What about Centerview's?
Moelis office in NY is getting completely redone, and they’re adding another floor with staircase. A friend who works there said he saw a mockup and it’s supposed to be very swanky with emphasis on natural light / plants and shit. Apparently it’s currently pretty meh with very little natural light. Can confirm PJT office is very nice with lots of white marble all around - bullpen is standard
Moelis analysts need the natural light for their vitamin D deficiency
Any info on the Houston offices?
TPH has one of the nicest, recently redone and has a gym/food. EVR and Simmons are also very nice.
Jefferies just moved into a totally new space in the same building they were in before. It's certainly the nicest: tan stone, glass, interconnecting staircase...feels like a high-end spa
Nice to be in a soothing environment when you're getting reamed at 4am
I was wondering about this, so in a corporate real estate building, each floor can be done up completely different from the one below them?
I always thought that all the floor in the same building would have a similar type of layout. How vastly different are the Jefferies' new floors compared to old?
Can confirm TPH has a bad ass office. Client floors are nice and bullpen is pretty well done also. Not to mention a fully stocked pantry.
CS has an awesome view from one of the highest floors (can’t remember which building). BAML was nice but didn’t blow me away. I believe Moelis just moved offices or had a big renovation done or something.
TPH client floors are like an art museum imo
EVR Houston has the best coffee machine I’ve seen at any bank. It had like every type of coffee possible and even hot chocolate (the hot chocolate tasted great).
this is the gayest comment ive read on this site
This is my favorite comment the site. Priorities!
Intrepid's offices are really nice.
TPH's are insane. Someone said it before me, but their client floors resemble a museum.
New BAML ones are great.
Let's be real, V&E's offices are the best.
Curious about what the Intrepid office is like
Macquarie has super nice offices in Houston, plus stocked fridge, snacks, fresh fruit every morning, daily catered lunches for all FO positions, etc
Centerview has a very good, free cafeteria. Tough to beat that.
CVP's office is fantastic. 3 interconnected floors, all very shiny and new, lots of natural light and yeah great cafeteria
damn free? And is it NY?
Is it true they have an in house barista that makes (free) coffee for employees?
Yessir it is true and it is amazing, nitro cold brew on tap too
@Deal_Team_6" SB'ed! Thoughts on EVR's NYC offices?
New floors are airy and well-lit -- they did a good job. Somewhat PE-esque feel (mix of glass and wood), decent amount of open space
Old ones okay but all in the process of being redone.
Which banks have free snacks and what are the snacks?
Hahah love how someone made an account just for this
PWP's offices in London are quite nice
GS’s new office though
In London you mean?
great gym setup - though no one has time to use it
its the old Gucci headquarters as well...
alternatively, thoughts on the worst offices (EB or BB)?
DB's pretty old now at 60 Wall St., but should be a lot nicer when they move over to their new Columbus Circle digs
The public parts of 1585 are gorgeous but the bullpens are pretty gross
Just a lowly intern but from treks/programs/superdays I think the nice offices are: PJT NYC, Centerview NYC (loved their artwork), William Blair Chicago (insane view of the river), Blackstone NYC (I think I was starstruck and in awe of the clout lol). Sculptor/OZ has an amazing amazing view of Central Park too
not an EB but the Apollo NYC office has the nicest view. kinda stuffy office setting imo like Blackstone, but that Central Park South overview is just beautiful
such a beauty lol gotta love the Apollo bust too
+1 Leon loves his views at 9 West
As far as London EBs go, Centerview has a great location in Pall Mall right in the heart of Mayfair. Pretty sure you can't beat that location as far as London goes. As for interiors, Guggenheim and HL have nice offices. I know HW isn't an EB, but their London office is really well done (except for the bull pen).
Evercore is quite nice too
PJT in London have some new interior office space being developed in the same building as HL which is just stunning
Rothschild London have a pretty nice offices too. One of the floors has huge windows with amazing views from the heart of the city.
Recruited all over the street and saw a fair amount of offices (in MBA you go to the offices for coffee chats).
The best office:
PJ Solomon.
I'm telling you it's got PJT style marble and glass, but overlooks central park so you have these stunning conference rooms. Lazard defiantly has the best views of both north and south, but their offices are a bit 1970s - PJS has floor to ceiling glass and you can see all the way to the reservoir.
Went to probably every BB and most EBs, so can comment on specifics if anyone is wondering.
Nice! Looking forward to hitting up these offices during upcoming fall recruiting for CBS. Which ones were your favorite / least favorite?
Well, all banks sort of start to look the same from the inside, especially the BBs.
MS does have a nice cafeteria and the floor where the Associate Pool sits is a lot of fun, although you need to work in Times Square, so call that a push.
JPM is funny, I remember asking "why are there all these framed photos of ships?" and no one knew. They just kind of accepted it as some weird design choice made decades ago.
BarCap - about as standard an office as you can get, a bit north of times square so not as bad but Midtown west kinda sucks in general, in my opinion.
Would rather not pick favorites cuz again, at 3 AM all these look the same lmao
MM IB in a 'shithole country', still, a great hipsterish cafeteria, mini-golf in the office, a nice lake with ducks near the building so you can take a walk during your lunch. Also, nice air view of the city.
Anyone have views on PWP NYC office? Heard they lost their access to Weil Gotshal's cafeteria after a legal dispute loll bummer
That's correct, not sure if/when they'll regain access. My buddy there said losing access was brutal
I know this thread is for EBs, but anyone have any insight into the nicest Chicago MM offices?
Blair's new building is awesome – great view of the river and city. Houlihan has a nice building, tons of marble and an interconnecting staircase. I know Lincoln/BAML are going to be in a new building next year so that will be pretty cool as well.
+1 on Blair, great office.
Not IBD but GTCR’s office is one of the nicest I’ve ever seen.
+1 re GTCR
.
GTCR's office is easily the best office building I will ever visit in my life
Seriously not trolling, RBC's new Houston office is pretty sick
609 Main is a fantastic building. Can confirm that Barclays, who recently moved there as well, has an amazing office.
"sO dOEs tHaT nOw MeAn RBC iS oFfIcIaLly aHEaD oF UBS?"
I mean it clearly is not even close at this point, not sure why senior members are now trying to be a part of the joke or something. Comes across as pretty cringy. It's not 2015 anymore.
West Coast offices?
Evercore in Menlo is dope. Very modern with lots of glass and natural light everywhere. It's surrounded by trees and has views of the hills. Sucks that it's not in SF proper but is a good trade off.
BAML has a pretty nice office. Feels very old school.
BAML in what city?
KKR Menlo Park is great. It's like an old school country club with a gourmet dining hall and smoothies delivered to your desk.
Not an EB but Platinum Equity's office in Beverly Hills looks like a straight up mansion
Not an EB but Bain Cap's Boston offices are unreal. 43rd floor views from 200 Clarendon, in-house barista and cafeteria
Work at an EB. Current office is awesome, getting laid regularly there since mid-March with no issue.
Which EB bro? Tell us!
You boink in the office mate?
If by "getting laid" you mean jerking it at 2AM before bursting into a pool of tears...then yes, a lot of IB people "get laid" in the office.
The better perks an office has, the longer you are expected to stay in the office.
bnp paribas london office is shit
whatre typical eb perks? like food, transportation, etc.
The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!
Every EB office is a shithole prison

Based on experience and discussions with peers in Chicago:
Lazard, GTCR, and Moelis are in a beautiful building off of LaSalle. Moelis has a gorgeous view of the neighborhoods and coast north of downtown Chicago. Floor-to-ceiling windows, 40+ stories up.
BAML and BMO are both moving into new buildings over the next several years. I haven't seen plans for these buildings, but I am confident that they will be nice.
As others have mentioned, Blair's building affords insane views of the bend in the river. The lobby in their building is beautiful as well. Linden and PWP are also tenants in this same building. Baird, while in one of the older buildings in downtown Chicago, has completed renovation of their workspace--quite nice. JPM, CS, Barclays, and Citi are your run-of-the-mill offices.
Has anyone in Chicago heard of Pritzker's, Thoma's, Citadel's, and MDP's set-ups?
MDP's conference room has a decent view of Lake Michigan and has nice wood panelling / chairs. Lobby feels like a hotel though.
Any banks gonna be in One Vanderbilt? That will have sick views
TD Bank is moving its US HQ to One Vanderbilt. They're going to have ~4-5 floors dedicated to TD Securities, of which a couple will be for IB.
Not IB, but Carlyle (PE) is moving there as well, from what I hear
Doesn't really count since it isn't a bank (much less an EB) but I got to hang out in Table's offices once (Ackman Family Office). That place was as fucking sick as fucking sick gets; complete with Bill's personal tennis court on the roof.
deleted
This. Don’t think it’s a competition. Every month they rotate items and art from the family collection, an in house family archive on site. It’s insane.
How's the NY office?
Rennovated BAML office in Palo Alto is going to beautiful if you don't mind a suburban location
I heard Moelis NY is getting redone, with a staircase I think
BNY Mellon has a great lobby at 200 Vesey. Tons of marble.
Curious if anyone has been to WF Hudson Yards offices yet
EVR
KKR NY is pretty dope with the art work and view of Central Park
Rothschild london is decent
Does anyone have insight on the offices in LA?
A bunch of banks are located in 1999 ave of the stars in century city
Are those offices nice? I have never been inside due to COVID lol
Half the firms are in 1999, which overall is a decent building (bit of a weird layout though).
PWP’s in Century Park towers which is a much nicer building (far more amenities, larger, nice park area). Their old offices were a bit on the small side but they just moved into their new office on a higher floor and while I haven’t been, I’ve heard it’s insane.
Rothschild New York’s office sucks
Really? I heard its pretty nice
The views and location are nice, but they could get a newer building. Windows are pretty narrow.
Any specifics?
I guess it's fine. The windows just remind me a lot of the old World Trade Center.
