PE Comp in India
I have an offer to move from US IBD to Indian PE. I was wondering if any current Indian PE associates/VPs and above could provide some idea about the comp and progression? I presume it is much lower in USD terms but would be great to get some rough ranges.

If you really had an offer wouldn’t you already know the comp range? Lol OP sounds like a troll but let me help - Indian PE pay is 3 bobs pics at the assoc level and 5 bob and vagene pics at the VP level. At the MD level, well, they’re the ones taking those pics
probs better than the cocks and balls you get in corp dev tho eh?
Oooo.. someone's touchy! No bob and vagene pics for you :)
PS: on the bright side though, you won't need to worry about the shortage of toilet paper so there's that...
Seriously? You gotta be racist to a guy asking for legit information? Damm WSO sometimes.
Exactly- I was just trying to benchmark my offer against others and understand the progression. V racist
I heard PE Comp in India can actually surpass PE Comp in America. However, it still doesn't come close to compensation in Pakistan and Iran.
Mate if you just google "Private Equity Compensation in India", there are a couple of articles (Economic Times) and blogs (M&I & Wall Street Mojo Posts) on this topic. Some Quora posts as well but I'd take that info with a grain of salt. What I've heard is that you are def going to be taking a huge paycut and witnessing slow deal flow but it totally depends on the type and tier of fund you are joining. There could be others with more insights on this forum but very few Indian PE folks actually use this forum.
He dude,
Those articles are widely inaccurate. my offer came in at least 2-3x as to what those blogs claims. I wanted to benchmark/ understand progression which is why I posted. Obviously I googled
Didn't mean it in a rude way just thought Heidrick report on Asian PE compensation and other articles would provide some clarity but yeah they look dated. Given the circumstances, congrats on securing the offer. This may be out of context but would love to know how you manager to secure an interview and offer in this climate.
