Is it common to go from large balance sheet bank FIG groups (RBC/DB) to HF after your first or second year as an analyst? Is it more difficult coming from a FIG background?

I did a FIG IB internship at Sandler/KBW back in the day and the analysts there said HF exits were actually relatively common because of the modeling you guys do. I have no idea, so take that for what it's worth.
Do you know if most of these analysts went to funds focusing on FIG or if they were able to transition to investing in other sectors?
Most ended up in FIG-related funds, although not necessarily just focused on depositories like they were doing before.
