Evercore 2021 SA - Direct Hire Groups

Evercore announced yesterday that their 2021 Summer Analyst opportunities for its direct hire groups are open for rising juniors (class of 2022). The applications are due at the end of August 2020.

Evercore is taking apps for:
· Equity Research
· Equity Sales & Trading
· Equity Capital Markets
· Debt Capital Markets
· Private Placements Advisory
· Private Capital Advisory
· Real Estate Capital Advisory
· Private Funds Group
· Strategic Defense & Shareholder Advisory

I thought I'd begin this thread for everyone applying. And, how competitive are these applications as compared to similar firms in each respective division?

Anyone know if there is a limit to how many roles you can apply?

what's the difference between private placements advisory, private capital advisory, and private funds group?

I think private placements was the only group to move quickly and finish hiring before their deadline, but if I’m mistaken someone please correct me. The others it seems are starting their process anywhere from now to end of September.

I believe superdays are happening for private funds. Source: friend got one

Had a first-round for equity S&T last week. Anyone else have one and how did it go? Also any insight on when we might hear back or how the process is moving forward?

they had 600 applications and narrowed it down to 60 for phone screens and from there will only choose TWO people T_T

just wondering, how do you know your s&t interview was for equity?

Because that was the name of the position I applied for. "2021 Equity Sales & Trading"

Anyone know what to expect for ER ISI?  Got first round coming up

when dd you hear back for first round? networked but didnt receive an invite – are superdays alr coming up?

I did my first round for debt advisory last week and they said that superdays were going to be the end of this week, but I haven't heard anything since so I may have gotten dinged

Anyone hear anything back after their first-round for S&T?

Just got rejected for S&T. Had my first round a few weeks ago.

Apparently only 5 superday spots available from the 60 first rounds given (from 600+ applicant pool), so pretty competitive. I felt I did really well during the interview, and I'm not trying to make excuses, but given there are kids with really good connections and/or from top targets, it makes sense. Nailed technicals and also had a great convo, so I'm not sure how much that was actually taken into account.

Yeah man, I'm sorry, these odds are insane. Things will work out!

FWIW I also heard that headcount is gonna be down even if banks haven't stated cuts for SA21, and with a lot of accelerated stuff wrapped up a while ago that means that its extra tough to get your foot in the door.
