I'm heading into my summer internship in a FIG coverage role this summer and looking for newsletters and other resources to better keep track of industry news. I keep up with a few sources (e.g. WSJ Financial Services News, American Banker) but I've struggled to find any free/cheap email newsletters. Hoping anyone in the space could direct me to a few.

I talked to some FIG bankers and there really aren't any ones that they suggested. SNL Financial (SP Global) is what they mentioned they used but that isn't available to everyday consumers.
One FIG banker suggested The Buttonwood Tree to me, it's not bad. If your shop doesn't already pay for it, it's actually affordable unlike the other exclusively high finance newspapers.
You could check out bankingdive (free). They might not post as frequently as other newsletters or be exactly what you’re looking for, but they definitely publish some interesting articles about banking and FinTech. CNBC also has some good reporting on financial institutions
