Long history and pretty good reputation; that being said I think their last fund was a "down fund"; associates divided by sub-sectors; strict 2-out for the most part; relatively long hours. Not sure on compensation but would guess UMM street.

Relative to firms like TJC, Kelso, Lindsay Goldberg, American Securities, Towerbrook, KPS -- what do you think of them through a comparison standpoint? I know its a lot to ask

My personal ranking of the firms would be the following.

Tier 1A: TJC, TowerBrook

Tier 1B: Kelso, Lindsay Goldberg, American Securities

Tier 2: Court Square, KPS

Just know that the strategies and cultures of the firms you named are pretty hugely different (traditional buyout vs. distressed, sweatshop vs. not, sector focus, etc.). Post a comment with your username and I can PM you.
