How do you know when something is worth spending time on?
This may be a funny question, but I am having trouble gauging what to do with my free time and how much of it should be concentrated on pure enjoyability (watching sports, casual reading) vs. moving toward monetary/career goals (CFA, GMAT prep).
How do you tell when something is not a waste of time?

I ask..is this the best use of my time to get me closer to achieving my goals?
Sometimes the answer to this is not working and instead spending time with friends/family, working out, going out, etc. Entirely depends on what your goals are.
Practising interviews for 2021 FT now, but even don't know whether I could get the first round. Sometimes feel unsecured, but will continue. Opportunities are for those who've prepared.Even if I
Sometimes a goal can be recharging your batteries (which is actually necessary to do good quality work, be creative, etc.). It's just as important as the work as you won't be at your best without it. I don't want to give shitty advice but just go with the flow and listen to your heart my man. There's nothing wrong with loading the tank with some beers and watching a game. There's also nothing wrong with putting your phone on DND and just crushing your goals/tasks/assignments. Don't be too hard on yourself and be sure to hold yourself accountable.
If you're taking the June CFA exam, you have until probably mid-January to study for the GMAT.
