Booz Allen Interviews
I'm just curious...has anybody interviewed with them before? If so, what was your experience? What have they asked? I'm just curious since I've heard they're not too hard to candidates after they have already been pre-selected.
bump bump any feedback?
Completely depends on the group brah.
Do they have campus recruitment?
Bump.
I am interviewing with them for postgraduates role. Can anyone share their interview experiences ? what kind of fit/case questions do they focus on ?
Booz interview feedback (Originally Posted: 04/09/2014)
I had an interview with Booz today over the phone. One was with a partner while the other was with an engagement manager. The latter gave me a case, which was to identify opportunities for collaboration between a health insurance company and a hospital system. I responded with a structure evaluating both monetary and non-monetary opportunities. We discussed the business strategy, and the reasons they were exploring a partnership. I provided options, used the 80/20 rule to suggest a small proportion patients drive costs for both groups and then used that concept to generate other ideas.
The partner wrote me before I could write a thank you note, asking me to contact him if I wanted to talk more. The manager wrote back after i wrote him asking me to reach out with questions.
How do I interpret this? Thanks!
It's probably a generic email they send to candidates. Don't read too much into it! I would wait and see what happens.
So, should I take those emails as a bad sign?
It sounds like it went well. Don't over think it. Just say thank you and maybe follow up with the partner with an intelligent question or two regarding what you talked about. Also follow up with the engagement manager about some new points you've thought about since your phone call.
If the next steps weren't made clear to you during your calls or from HR, ask them what the next steps are and let them know that you're very interested in the position, especially after your phone call.
Thanks! That's the guidance I was looking for. I really appreciate this.
Booz & Co Interview Policies (Originally Posted: 05/17/2012)
Hey guys, few questions for someone with info on Booz & Co:
-I interviewed with Booz just before college graduation 6 months ago with no offer, and the feedback that I was too casual/relaxed in final round interview with HR person. I have since been working at an angel investor group - how long until I am able to interview at the same Booz office again? What about different offices?
-When (what month) does Booz & Co begin to recruit and look at resumes again for the upcoming fall recruiting season for undergrad hires?
too relaxed..? never heard that one before.
Agree with Neighbor, getting feedback that you were "too relaxed with HR" is very unusual, but fixable. What did you talk about with the recruiters? You should always be professional in these interview settings, even if you lose some "personality" -- especially so in the interactions with people who don't make the yes/no hiring decisions. You can only lose an offer through these interactions.
Booz has a similar OCR to the other consulting firms, so they hire many undergrads in Sept/Oct
Yes that was the feedback I received. Meaning I wasnt polished and professional enough.
Anyone know how long I have to wait before I can reinterview at same office? What about different office?
Irrespective of which office you interview with again, they'll have your feedback recorded. Most of these so called "white shoe firms" put a huge premium on dressing conservatively and acting professionally. They want to know that you'll represent the firm well in corporate boardrooms.
I am fine with any/all offices seeing previous interview feedback, because they will also see good things. And it leaves room to show improvement.
