Exit opportunities in "back office" functions after consulting?

Hi I am an analyst at a management consulting firm and am looking to jump ship. I've been in my firm for almost a year. I know that typically most ex-consultants move to PE, management, BD roles but I am interested in more back office roles like Human Resources, Marketing, and Communications.

A few questions:

  1. Most back office/operational type roles require a decent amount of experience unless you start out at entry-level roles.... Should I be applying for these entry level positions even though I have work experience already? They say that 1 year in consulting is equivalent to 3 in industry. If not, should I be looking to apply for associate-level roles ?
  2. Is there a certain industry where back office roles are more prestigious, and well paying? I think most people are unimpressed with these roles and the growth potential is definitely slower than in consulting.
  3. What was your experience like when you left consulting for a back office role?

Thanks!
