Dinakar Singh: Problem with hedge funds is shrinking risk tolerance
Bloomberg aired this interview with TPG-Axon founder- lots of fascinating stuff but I wanted to hear other's opinions on risk tolerance now - his strategy is taking short-term pain for long-term gains that other shops with small risk limits can't trade on. I know the forum has been talking a lot about long-term/short-term investing recently so this is an interesting add.
Can't link because I'm a new user but the title is "Dinakar Singh Says Hedge Funds Need to Stop Trading So Much" on Bloomberg - interview is linked within.
It's a long-term trend that does not to seem to end soon. The industry will continue to underperform and shrink. People who still work in the industry do not make too much money, no where near it used to be.
