What do I do at 25? Where do I go?

To give context. I am a 25 yr old male working credit risk at a BB in a low COL city. I come from a non-target and have been in this role since finishing undergrad. I am stumped as to where I should be when I am 28 or 30? Should go back to get an MBA and try to land an associate role in say NY, Boston, Chicago? Or is it better to just work the ladder up where I am now or try to transfer internally to front office work? I have always wanted to get to equity research but never made final interviews when in my undergrad. Any input will get a quick response and is always appreciated.

I am not married nor own my home so relocating is negligible.
