Interning during the school year

Hi all,

I received an internship offer for spring semester (around 10 weeks) starting from January.  The hours are said to be 9-5, and it will be conducted virtually.  Does anyone have experience working 9-5s while in school?  Also, I will have January off, if that helps at all.

I interned at different funds during a few school semesters. Once you get the hand of it, it shouldn't be bad. Of course, only do it if you can manage school on the side as well. I was fortunate to work with guys who were understanding of any school commitments (athletics, exams, etc.) and it felt like a great way to get some experience. My friend on the other hand worked at a place that had no regard for his school stuff so he got crushed. Make sure you set the expectation from day 1 if you go ahead with it

I'm doing my second school year internship this year. Would definitely recommend taking it, but just adjust your class schedule accordingly. And I'm sure that if you need a day off to study for a test or something they won't care.
