LA Office Intern Dress Code

Hello fellow Hominidae,

Will be interning at a MM IB office in LA this summer and wanted to get some of yalls thoughts on appropriate dress code.

Dont want to be the under-dressed jackass and the over-dressed dweeb. Preferably, would like to curve slightly right of the middle on that chart, exactly how my gf likes me (and I'm not talking political leanings). I hear different things all around so wanted to get some general opinions. My go to right now is a hugo boss, slightly visible pattern, blue suit, white/blue collar, dress shoes, and red tie. So I have a feeling I lean more towards the dweeb/hot-shit side as of now.

Obviously Ik this shit aint that deep and realistically I could reach out to someone in the office and ask about it/wait until I'm actually there but my only real connect thus far is the MD and I definitely don't want to waste his time with this shit if I dont have to. Wanted to do some due diligence beforehand just incase I need to get some stuff beforehand like a Rolex Daytona or a 911 GT3 so I can fit in with the rest of the analysts/interns.

Anyways, didnt hurt me to ask and if it doesnt hurt you would appreciate some thoughts.

Chirps are welcome

Best,

Fellow Monkey

Dress up the first day (suit + tie + oxfords) and see what the office vibe is so u can dress accordingly. Ik some places are mostly polos + chinos with others doing suit + no tie. Varies firm by firm.
