No summer internship, best types of firms to target?

Currently a junior econ major, CS/Math minor at a nontarget and I'm in the finance club. I will be delaying grad if I completely fail to get experience this summer. Also I have done a search fund internship and an accounting internship at a well-known resort in the region. I do not care what area of finance I get into this summer, as long as I have an internship.

I started my search for anything finance related pretty late back in January. But since then, as the structured programs began to dry up, I started targeting tiny WM and accounting firms, but they all tell me that they have nothing for me to do, or they ghost me. The closest thing I have to an offer is a one man WM that said, "This is not an offer but maybe we can see if I can find something for you to do here". The stipulation with that is he said I would probably work there for like 3 weeks and then run out of stuff to do.

Anyways, I am wondering if anyone else here has been in similar shoes and might have some advice for how I might be able to dig myself out of this? What other types of firms are more receptive to unstructured internships? I am not in a city btw.
