Battling Allergies in NYC

Beautiful day in NYC today. However, I stepped outside to get some Cava and my eyes are now bright pink and throbbing and I'm sneezing uncontrollably.

I'm interested to hear how people fight their allergies. Right now, I'm taking Flonase, Zyrtec, and I have CVS brand allergy eye relief eye drops. Not being able to breathe out of my nose is annoying, but so far, my eyes are bothering me the most. Once I start rubbing them, I can't stop.

I'd look into finding an allergist. They can typically pinpoint what allergen is causing your body to react that way and could give you some prescription grade stuff or even look into giving you shots to boost your body.

Was literally just about to start a thread about this.

I don't actually have any issues with allergies where I live, but whenever I'm in the office (midtown east), it's fucking bad. Itchy watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose, the whole lot. Flonase helps - you're supposed to use it multiple days in a row for it to take effect, but I literally only have this problem in the office.

I have similar allergy issues, I use Prednisolone eye drops for my eyes, usually my allergy ends up causing further infection/inflammation in my eye, so regular eye allergy drops don't work then. If after using regular allergy eye drops for a week doesn't relieve the symptoms then get Presdnisolone, I believe you might need to get a prescription for it. Try Benadryl tablets as its stronger I believe, but be sure that you will be sleeping 7-8 hours minimum otherwise it'll cause drowsiness.

Consult a proper ENT and go for immunotherapy. Basically the doc will identify which all things you are allergic to (57 items people are allergic to). Post that he will give you droplets to take 4 times a week. These allow body to build immunity against the allergens. The recommended timeline is one primary does followed by 7-8 booster dose and takes 3-4 years to fully cure. However, the best part is that you will feel 80% relieved within 3 months.
