If you leave your current job to another company or get promoted, do you have any power/influence over who replaces you/your current position?
- Say an finance Associate at Morgan Stanley gets another job as a Vice President at another firm.
OR
- A Vice President at Goldman Sachs get promoted to Managing Director internally.
Does that person have any power to nominate any individual (like a college friend/family member) to replace them in their current role? Or is the replacement out of the control of the previous employee?
Also, if you vouch for someone and they fuck up, does that put your own career in jeopardy too?
