I'm no expert on this topic but I'd say the U.S. is still by far the best for traditional PE. Growth equity and VC is booming in Asia but you need a certain types of economy to enable successful LBOs. Asian countries have a different corporate governance structure so pitching to management is a hard sell. Also, Singapore's economy is tiny in comparison.
What about Southeast Asia in general?
