PE acquire any Investment bank?

Does any one know some successful cases in which PE company or investment related company acquired investment banking(in USA ,HK,Singapore ,Sweden or Norway) during the previous years, I mean in the previous five years .
Thank you

My PE firm is owned by the same guy that owns the I bank we work in the same building as. Same managing directors too. Im pretty sure at some point it gets illegal. Not sure when though.
