PE vs SF vs IS and thoughts on Internship

I am a rising sophomore working as an unpaid PE SA, and I get to work on due diligence and LBOs. My firm just started up recently and is in it for the long term. It is looking to do control investments management buyouts, carve-outs, divestitures, and consolidation plays, so it is not a SF. All the partners are ex-BB and top-5 MBAs. Will I benefit, and does it sound legit? Really good deal flow also, for just starting up this year, and it's a legit website.
