Unique PE Opportunities

Current analyst working in generalist consulting at a niche but well connected firm. Can provide more information if helpful. 

Since working on some PE related deals, I have found a new interest in the space. I understand the limitations of attending a non target school (I went to a third tier), math background, and two years in IB

Understanding the value of an MBA, I'd prefer to gain relevant experience beforehand. I've researched roles in investor relations and shareholder activism, but I'm trying to explore other financial industry opportunities that are maybe more accessible or better suited for someone with my background.
