Applying to a 1 year masters at a target school in uk at 27 for a career in IB

Hi everyone,

I hold a Master's degree in Finance from a top 10 business school in France, which is not considered a target institution. Additionally, I have completed several internships that are semi-target in nature, including positions as a Credit Analyst, Large Cap Coverage Analyst, and in M&A. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to secure a position this year or gain admission to an advanced master's program at a target school in France. Therefore, I'm planning to take the GMAT to apply to LSE, LBS, or ESSEC for the 2025/2026 academic year. By that time, I will be 28 years old. My question is: Would my age be seen as a disadvantage, or should I proceed with my plans since my ultimate goal is to break into a BB/EB in Europe as an Analyst and eventually relocate to Dubai?

In LDN maybe since most Brits start as an AN at 21-22, but defo not in DXB. Interned there last year and had a lot of 30yo AN1s and AN2s at my bank lol

Age isn't much of an issue in Europe, but since you already have an MSc, why don't you work for a couple of years and shoot for an LBS/INSEAD MBA?

To infinity... and beyond!
