U Georgia vs Kelley
I’ve been admitted to the University of Georgia’s business school and Kelley at IU. I want to do investment banking when I graduate in NYC. Which college should I choose and why?

Don’t know much abt Kelly, but if you get into Corsair at UGA (IB club) you are basically guaranteed IB placement
Have heard this but how difficult is it to get into Corsair?
There r less selective clubs as you go through the first few semesters that are kind of a pipeline into corsair so if you stay along that path it isn’t too difficult
Same goes at Kelley with their IB workshop.
I would say make your decision on which backup destination you would be okay with, atlanta or chicago
Kelley hands down
Both do decent as far as placements, though Kelley I think is slightly stronger from the standpoint of placing the most people. That being said, there is an argument to be made that Kelley is a more competitive environment compared to UGA given the IB Workshop and the general availability of knowledge of it. Personally I've met plenty of people from both schools.
Nothing is a guaranteed placement and a lot of factors can go into recruiting and placement - my view is that given the similarity of school rankings, I'd look a bit more into which one you think you'd have a better experience at re: student life, sports, the town, or anything else you might care about.
Is this UGA phenomenon new? I’ve seen some grads in ATL or Charlotte but never NYC, Chicago or west coast. Kelley has people in IB and PE everywhere.
Misguided if u go uga. IU has great placement in NYC. Lots of Kelley MDs. Uga places if you’re in Corsair, but usually only to ATL and CHI (Charlotte too)
Kelley hands down, not even a question. Much better placement and there are Kelley MDs and PMs across the street in banking, PE, hedge funds, etc. To be clear, UGA is still a great school, and you could still do well there, but Kelley’s got a more prominent reputation on the street.
Go to Georgia to avoid the kelley stigma + it’s more fun
