A high B2 (closer to C1) should definitely be enough. I'm currently working in France in M&A and when I first started I had a B2 (was preparing for C1). Now I have a C2 level.

The type of bank you join/the clients your bank has will determine what kind of French level you need. If your clients are mostly traditional French clients, they will expect you to have a semi-perfect level.

I'm originally from Spain, did my bachelor's in the UK and moved to France for my master's degree at a local business school. I'm not extremely familiar with sales so I will let other fellow monkeys correct me, but I would say the language requirements for sales would be similar to that of M&A (both quite high given that you're in client-facing roles).

Best of luck!
