Hello - I'm attempting the fun transition from Big4 accounting to IB in Canada. I've networked with the Canadian banks and a couple of BBs and am confident that I can land an interview for an analyst position.
One of the recruiters recommended that I do a financial modelling course (BIWS or WSP) to set myself apart from other candidates in the interview process. I've already done some research and went through the BIWS and WSP youtube videos on DCFs, LBOs, and accretion/dilution and I don't have any difficulty understanding the concepts. Will the BIWS advanced modelling course (this one is cheaper than WSP) better prep me for the interview process? Is that depth of knowledge required beyond information that's out there for free?
