WSO is depressing!

Joined WSO couple of years ago after my friends told me about it. I thought I would learn more about the interviews and experience of individuals working at other firms. However, all it is is a bunch of desperate nerds trying to show others that they deserve to enter two very concentrated fields in finance in hopes of making millions and getting laid every night. It's just sad to see how all of these bright young students do not have a clue about what they are entering and how different it's going to be compared to their expectations. Investment Banking or Private Equity (to some extent) aren't the same lucrative careers as they used to be and truth is you'd be way better off in the long run joining a field where you get a decent starting pay (£30-£50k) while also having time to work on a startup on the side. Even if you want to do an MBA, you'd be better off having some entrepreneurial experience compared to guys from 2+2.P.S: it's my 2nd year in the industry, had an offer from a big name UMM fund but still I am leaving to start something of my own in RE tech. I just can't digest the fact that I wasted 2 years of my life in this.

Hey London intern - we know you have a face for radio but the resounding fact is that you couldn’t get laid in a whorehouse with a fistful of 50s. You posted this 3 days ago:

"However, I have decided to pursue with FT IB at a BB because Ihave to fund my siblings tuition and put food on the table for my family. So if you can afford to take risks, then I'd advise to go with a startup"

You can't keep the story straight. The forum suffers when twinks start talking large like this. Let the adults drive the car here.
