Clothes

Hey, I'm going into a boutique bank in Florida for a summer analyst position. This is what I am planning to wear:

Jos a Banks ($600)
-3 Suits (Navy/Charcoal/Brown)

15 Dress Shirts
-7 of them Kirkland Brand ($140)
-8 of them Stafford Brand ($160)

Shoes from Allen Edmonds ($900)
-Brown/Black/Dark Red

Dockers Dress Socks ($20)

10 Ties ($50)
Cheapneckties Website

3 Columbia Brand Belts Matching With Shoe Colors ($60)

Any Criticism is appreciated, I know this is very cheap compared to the brands some of the people on this site mention, but I'm just trying to show to other summer analysts that it is affordable.

Ties are too cheap try thetiebar or similar. No need for the dark red shoes and brown suit. Allen Edmonds is pretty expensive so if you wanna save go a bit cheaper.

"Truth is like poetry. And most people fucking hate poetry."

Dark red shoes are totally fine, but you probably don't need 3 pairs of shoes if that's what the poster above was implying.

Less dress shirts but higher quality. Also do not buy $5 ties. You need to focus on higher quality everything in less quantity or you will find yourself throwing everything away after a year.

2 tailored suits (charcoal and blue); Calvin Kleins go for ~$250/each if on sale I think. Even better, buy two pants for each jacket as pants require more dry-cleaning 5 ties (at least $20/each) 2 allen edmond shoes (black and brown) 2 matching belts from allen edmond 5 quality dress shirts 10 v-neck undershirts (minimizes dry cleaning)

Get socks that aren't horrible.

Mix suits/shirt color/ties to not be repetitive. It's easy to go 9 weeks without this being an issue.

After working over the summer, you will have a better idea for full-time.

Hey, I changed me account name:

But to get the bigger picture, you are all saying that Brown/Red are colors that shouldn't be there.

Also, I felt that Stafford and Kirkland are good quality. I always liked them when I wore them. But, if you think better brand names but in less quantity is better, I guess I should go with you.

Also, many told me that Jos A Banks isn't that bad at all, why are you all saying that it's not that good

A few people on WSO suggested CT Shirts and I tried 12 of their shirts just to see the sizing/fit/fabric. I would NOT recommend. The fit is a bit awkward but the biggest problem is that the collar does not stay down. The collar point should be touching the shirt not floating 1' in the air. I guess you get what you pay for ($38/shirt). Again, would not recommend CT.

What about the collar? CT Shirts might be ok for those who wear ties daily. I've read that raised collars indicate that the shirt wasn't cut properly.
