Tried and hated PC, will I hate IB?

So I did a private credit internship, and HATED it. Just not for me. Does this mean I would probably hate IB as well? For reference, this was a smaller fund that did mostly asset backed lending, in NYC. I was originally planning on recruiting for IB, but sitting at that desk just grinding out models to underwrite a bunch of debt for 8 hours a day, with barely any human communications, was miserable. Thinking I might need to rethink my career plans. Am I right to think if I didn't like this, I'll hate IB? Or am I being shortsighted?

I mean at some kinda level it's all the same, but also different if that makes sense. Your office, group, and their cultures (whether the same or different) make up a lot more of whether you'll like it or not

The people in the office were very kinda , just quiet and not much communication. I just got bored AF grinding underwriting private debt for hours on end, more so than any other job I’ve had.

Curious, as I know lost go into IB with the hopes of exiting to PE, would you say PE would be more like in ib or what I did private credit in the sense of being much more than just grinding out models as an analyst behind a screen all day?

Hey man, know this is an old thread but just wanted to ask if you broke into IB and what the process was like, in a similar situation and don’t know what the process of going from PC —> IB will be like
