UChicago VS Gtown

I am choosing between 2-year UChicago (STEM) and 1-year Georgetown (non-STEM) in the US.

BG: international student, UK target undergrad

Career goal: IBD at BB/EB and later join a PE, also interested in HF, will consider smaller shops immediately after graduation and then move to bigger banks and funds (unsure of feasibility)

UChicago: target school, STEM OPT allows me to work in the US for up to 3 years after my master

Gtown MS: also target, 1 year program and non-STEM

Let's not consider costs at this stage of planning. Fine to have the next 2-2.5 years doing graduate study.

Pls feel free to let me know your thoughts and if I have missed considering anything. Appreciate it!

Wouldn’t recommend coming to the US for a non stem degree, even if you plan on doing a second masters. It’s simply a waste of time and money.

Since you have a profile that gets you into U Chicago, I would recommend applying for their stem MSF. It is a new course but gives you access to all the right things (finance + booth + target school). Other target schools that you can look into are MIT, JHU.
