Plz Help-Missed Networking Call

Hi guys,

So I am a sophomore student at a target and I just missed my scheduled Zoom Networking meeting with an alum who has been incredibly helpful and nice to connect with me on LinkedIn and message me to say hi, asked if I needed any assistance (they probably saw me viewing their LinkedIn Profile in the first place lol), and agreed to meet with me via Zoom. Unfortunately, I am currently in a different time zone and the meeting time we agreed upon was like 3am in my time. My alarm did not go off so I accidentally overslept our meeting. I thought it would be a better idea to accommodate to the person's schedule since he is an MD working in a top BB and probably has a much busier schedule than I do. Apparently this wasn't the wisest choice...

So the MD messaged me 10 minutes into our scheduled meeting time and asked if I could still come to the meeting. I didn't see the message until I woke up about an hour later than our meeting time. I messaged the MD afterwards and he's agreed to reschedule our meeting to next Monday and suggested me to always let the other know I am in China so they can pick a time more convenient for me. He has been incredibly nice and patient, but I just feel super bad and dumb for making the mistake that I did. I genuinely want to learn more about his experiences in the industry and this was among my very first networking calls so I was very much looking forward to it...Does it look like I've messed up completely? Would truly appreciate it if someone can share opinions!

You're blackballed. Sorry bud.

Edit: To be clear, this is not a big deal at all. People get worried about talking to MDs but in my experience they're some of the nicest and most understanding people at banks. The fact that you're in China and scheduled the call at 3am is obviously good mitigating factor too--no one will blame you for sleeping through that.

thank you! still, I just feel super bad for missing the appointment and for wasting his time, especially I'm the one who asked for the networking opportunity (I even confirmed the time with him again a few hours prior, before falling asleep:(
