St. Gallen vs SSE for IB London

Hi,

I have been admitted to the master's in banking and finance at St. Gallen and to the master's in finance at SSE. However, I am highly uncertain about which is the better choice. My goal is to end up in M&A/TMT at a top-tier bank (GS/MS/JPM) in London. My background:

BSc in finance from Nordic non-target (top 5 Swedish business school). GPA 3,8/4

Exchange semester at Bocconi. All courses are highly relevant for IB. Top grades.

IB internship at one of the largest Nordic banks (top 5-6 in ECM/M&A league tables).

2+ years experience from a leadership position at the advisory division of a large insurance company

Obviously, St. Gallen is ranked higher and has a higher quality of education. From what I have understood though, it's mostly known in German-speaking countries and a large majority ends up in Zurich. I want to gain as much work experience as possible during my master's. As I do not speak German, having part-time jobs in finance during my studies at St. Gallen will not be an option. SSE is lower ranked, but I would be able to take on a part-time job in finance during the semesters as I am a native speaker. I would be very grateful for your input. Thank you in advance!

Also applying to European masters here and heard from St-Gallen students it is very very sausage party and the city is shit… might be worth taking into accounts

I would go to SSE, a top gem that is not really known by the mass but by people in the industry. Great program and people!

Also, you speak the language which makes it a no brainer.

Great tip. Looked at some of the major banks (GS/MS/JPM/BOA/CS/UBS). For London, St. Gallen and SSE were extremely similar but St. Gallen came out slightly ahead. Bocconi is CRUSHING the competition when it comes to European (non-UK) universities. However, UK universities are way ahead of Bocconi.
