Seeking Advice: Applying for Consulting Roles Post-MSc—Home Country vs. Study Abroad Location
I completed my Bachelor's degree in my home country and am currently pursuing my Master's in another European country, aiming to enter the consulting field post-graduation. Based on my internships and academic performance, I feel confident about my prospects. However, I'm uncertain whether to apply for jobs in my home country, where I would prefer to work, or in the country where I'm studying. My current university is highly regarded internationally and is one of the top two schools from which MBB firms in this country recruit.
Although I have relevant internship experience in my home country, I haven’t worked directly with the consulting firms I intend to apply to. Additionally, while I am fluent in the local language of my home country, I do not speak the local language of the country where I am studying. However, the language is not a strict requirement for the positions here according to employees I've spoken to.
Given these factors, would my chances be similar in both countries, or does one offer a significant advantage over the other in terms of securing an interview?
