Bump
DWS - Investment Manager (equivalent of VP): £120k
Infracapital - Senior Associate: £115k
Bonuses between 75% and 95%, all cash
wow, is that DWS VP salary considered low internally?
Yes
Know a couple of ex-DWS.
Both left within 12-18 months. They told me that working atmosphere is terrible and very sweaty (banking 2.0 they used to call it) as bidding on absolutely everything. Partners tend to tank each other's transactions at IC.
Comp is not great until you hit Director and get carry.
On the good side, senior individuals (Directors and Partners) are very sharp but extremely demanding.
GIP, Brookfield and Stonepeak are hiring senior associates at £150k base according to headhunters
Similar for Antin - they can pay the equivalent a Senior Associate (they don't have Senior Associate nor VP title, just Associate -> Director) 150k base
Antin bonus is negligible too i heard from HH (20-30%); apparently they are heavy on carry, but to me that's meaningless. terrible place to work too
Just to flag, Brookfield only pays 45-50% bonuses. You do get carry, but it's small and meaningless
Who is the HH for these roles? If you don't mind me asking
The HH I spoke to only had an active mandate for GIP, it was Pearse Parters.
Most large-ish funds are c. 130-150k base for VP, around 100% bonus give or take.
On average, is infra PE less than Corporate PE in London
MF (KKR, BX, Stonepeak etc.) - no
UMM - generally slight discount but varies. US firms tend to pay way more.
MM - same as UMM. US firms tend to pay way more (e.g. junior VP at some MM US-based funds make c. £400k cash)
It's less about the asset class, way more about whether you join a US or Europoor shop
Can you name any of those US MM at £400k cash?
GS / MSIM?
Heard MSIP £150k base for VP1, although big sweatshop.
How do you define sweatshop?
Does anyone know which firms are actively hiring at the moment? And who are the HH's?
One Search, Stem 7 are usually above average and quite good in infra
MM shop
ASO1 £105k + 100%
Been communicated should scale to £115k ASO2, £125k ASO3, £150k VP1
Carry from ASO3 level
What’s the equivalent years of experience of an ASO1 here? Is it 3 years?
