JP Morgan Winning Women

This thread is for undergraduate students currently applying to the JP Morgan's 2018 Winning Women events in NYC and Chicago. Feel free to follow and/or post if you're in another division as there might be similar recruitment timelines.

JP Morgan Winning Women Overview

JP Morgan's Winning Women program is a one to two day program held at offices around the United States for different divisions of the firm. This program helps connect promising sophomore and junior candidates to different divisions of the firm by giving them an education and in some divisions also offers students the chance to interview for the next summer during the program.

Read below for JP Morgan's description of the program:

Experience the firm’s culture of success through the inspirational women in various areas and at various levels of the business. The valuable guidance of these female leaders will help guide you in your career. Hear directly from senior professionals and gain top tips from our people at all levels of the business on how to progress your career.

Program Experience: You’ll gain a wealth of knowledge through skill-building sessions and overviews of our divisions, including Asset Management, Investment Banking, Risk Management and Sales, Trading and Research.

This is a great program that can pipeline you into a summer internship.

I applied to both locations. I just received a video interview invite for the one in Chicago.

JP Morgan Winning Women Interview Questions

WhitChantal:
The questions were about leadership, how you stay up on the markets, and what unique experience or expertise can you bring to the team.

Sample Answer to "How Do You Stay Up on the Markets?"

"Well my interest in the markets first stemmed from finding connections between economic data and political news to the markets - so firstly I read the WSJ and NYT economics and political sections each week as well as the markets sections to keep up to date with market trends and data. Also - my school happens to have bloomberg terminals which I learned to use through the finance training program that my school offers. With the terminal, I follow the more niche quantitative data like the World Interest Rate Probabilities that I can't find through standard news sources."

The questions was about leadership, how you stay up on the markets, and what unique experience or expertise can you bring to the team

Did anyone run into some technical issues while filling out the application? Weirdly enough one of the mandatory fields (your placement preferences) doesn't have any options to choose from, but it's also mandatory to fill in so I can't move on to the next part of the application. Did any run into similar problems? How did you deal with it

@ziyuyan" yeah, i ran into that same issue, so i just went ahead and turned it in. i wanted to check the other options but since it wouldnt let me i just let it go

Submitted my video answers yesterday for AM NYC, anyone know if it'll be on a rolling basis? The event is in one month so it should be pretty quick.

Pretty much the same as mentioned above, 3 questions with 90 seconds to answer. I was nervous going in but it really wasn't bad. It lets you watch each submission so you can decide if you want to redo it.

i applied to the winning women and i got an email two weeks later to do a video interview, also applied for summer analyst and the next day got the same video interview

does anyone encounter the issue for AM where you filled out page 1 and then click "continue," but goes to a page that says "You've entered in all necessary information. Are you sure you want to submit your application?" I don't know if I should proceed with this, since I haven't uploaded my resume and cover letter yet.

Just submitted mine too. I think you'll be fine. If you submitted everything they told you to submit in time I don't see how they could not consider your app. Kind of hoping at this stage maybe we don't have to do video :-) lol wishful thinking maybe

i asked an upperclassmen friend (so take this with a grain of salt) but apparently if they want you they'll tell you in about 3 days and request you do a video thingy...so at least well still have like a day to do the video interviews i guess.

Did anyone else apply to both the Winning Women program and the CIB analyst internship program but only get a video invite for the Winning Women program?

Just got my video invite for AM as well! applied yesterday and then received email for video interview today, how long do we have to do the video interview (i.e. should complete in day or so?)

I applied today. Is that too late? The website says the deadline is Tuesday. Why would they make it Tuesday if it's much earlier?

Does anyone have any insight into the questions for winning women CIB video interview? Are they similar to the regular internship app video interview?

I applied for the CIB-Winning Women but not the regular one; I havent received the video interview email yet. I'm doubting if CIB-Winning Women has video interview...

Would you mind sharing insights about the question after you finished it? I was just wondering the type of those questions (leadership?/teamwork? etc) Thanks!!

There's two winning women's events, one in September and one in October. I think certain divisions are only on certain dates, those that go in October have a later due date.

can't speak for AM, but i submitted my video august 10 for CIB, and spoke to a recruiter yesterday that said we should hear back in the next two weeks

Hey I have a really small question; i heard someone said JPM's winning women program won't recruit international students; is this true? I'm a little worried ;(
