Highest Ranked Comments Question
Could the highest ranked comments section be kept more up-to-date? Right now it seems that the queries aren't being run too frequently. I personally think this feature is one of the most value-added features of WSO, and its value is diminished if it isn't regularly updated. If it's possible to have all of the various queries run once a day that would be great. Thank you.
hey man, i think they are being run once per day....maybe when you click "comments" on the block you are brought to the "All Time" list? If you click on the "week" tab you will see recent comments...

Do you see what you're looking for there?
Oh ok, it looks like the Week tab is up-to-date right now I think, but looking at the Monthly tab I don't see rufio's Great Gatsby post for instance which was on 2/21 and got 4 SB's. And also the Year and All Time ones aren't as updated, that's what I was looking at earlier (I'm assuming year is supposed to mean YoY from the present, month means MoM, week means WoW)
he's just mad none of his comments are ranked
bump
Wondering if Week and Month are both run once a day, is Month mean previous calendar month or MoM from current day, and if the Year tab could also be updated once a day. I still don't think Month is being updated as expected, though perhaps this is because OP's aren't counted as comments? If not can that be changed? Thanks.
...i think they are all updating at least once per day. Maybe the confusion is about what is a "discussion" and what is a comment? The WSO Score on a discussion is based on the # of SBs given to the Original post AND the number of comments in that thread. (I see hte Great Gatsby trhead from Rubio in the month list at a 4.12 score).
The highest ranked comments pulls the individual comments from the previous week, month, year or all time (on a rolling basis)....
All of these time periods are rolling (except for all time which is obviously all inclusive)....
Does that clear anything up?
thanks, Patrick
