High‑Responsibility Impact Investing Role for IB Analysts – NYC

Investment Associate, Partnership Fund for New York City
Base: $95k | On‑site

The Partnership Fund for New York City (PFNYC) is hiring an Investment Associate with ~2 years of investment banking or equivalent financial experience who is looking to pivot into impact investing while continuing to do rigorous, institutional‑quality analysis.

PFNYC is the evergreen investment arm of the Partnership for New York City, founded by Henry Kravis, with $200mm+ invested across venture, growth, and structured investments. The Fund focuses on mission‑driven, for‑profit investments—particularly technology and innovation that generate measurable economic and social impact for New York City.

This is a hands‑on, end‑to‑end investing role:

  • Build and sensitize financial models
  • Conduct diligence with senior investment professionals and external experts
  • Draft investment and Board memoranda
  • Support execution and portfolio monitoring

Associates work in a lean team, take ownership early, and gain exposure across sectors, business models, and public‑private partnerships.

Why analysts leave banking for this role: direct buy‑side reps, senior exposure, and the ability to apply core IB skills to investments with real-world social impact, without sacrificing rigor.

WSO reality check: this is not charity or grant‑making—returns, downside protection, and discipline matter.

Lifestyle: hours are demanding at times but materially more sustainable than banking; the culture prioritizes judgment, quality of work, and long‑term impact over face time.

Comp & structure:

  • Base salary $95,000 plus strong benefits
  • On‑site hybrid in NYC
  • 3‑year position, designed for depth and continuity
