General Interview Information
Interview Details
After having sent my CV, I first spoke to recruiter on the phone to talk about the fund, the role, my profile and next steps.
Recruiter submitted my CV along with others' to the hiring company.
After receiving feedback that they were interested, we scheduled a phone interview via the headhunter. The call took about 45 minutes in which general introductions were made and I was asked to walk through my CV. Also, I was asked for PE-related experience (I was in management consulting before).
Following the phone interview, I received feedback from the recruiter that they would like to meet me in person in their office.
The meeting took place with just one representative from the firm. Initially, it was planned to meet two people one after the other, but the second interviewer had to cancel on short notice.
The interview in person was quite similar to the phone interview. Walk through CV, ask about PE-specific experience. Question about why PE and why leave the current job. Was asked about my current position at my employer and my views on a pending promotion. Got opportunity to ask questions, which were answered in much detail.
Overall, it was a very friendly atmosphere. More like a meeting to get to know each other first, before more in-depth questions would be asked.
Unfortunately, got feedback from the recruiter a few weeks later that they had decided not to pursue further and were now in the final stages of interviewing the remaining candidates of the batch.
