Booz Allen Hamilton prestige post-spinoff
Hi, I'm curious about the image of Booz Allen Hamilton since it spun off Booz & Co. Prestige? Exit Opps (other consulting firms/finance/MBA)? Relative "tier" compared to other consulting firms? Any particular groups that are better than others? Thanks
Better for B-school: small marketing consulting firm or BB Operations (total BO) in AM division?
I would appreciate insight from anyone who has relevant knowledge/experience. Thanks! I am graduating from college and my goal is to get into managing assets at a top firm. However, I don't think I will be able to do that right out of undergrad. Right now I have an offer from one of the top...
Advice about first job
Hi, Just wanted an advice. I have couple offers on hand (Assistant Trader from one Trading firm in Chicago, Audit in one of the Big 4 firms, and one from Consulting firm (not Big 3)). Pros/ Cons. Advices on what to choose? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
Boutique Consulting
Is it normal to move from boutique pure strategy consulting firms like Dean & Co which work heavily with PE companies, due diligence, and M&A synergies to a role as an associate in a MM PE shop? I know the normal route is IB or MBB /Parthenon/LEK but why don't PE firms like the M&A operational...
Non-MBB firms that hire PhD?
I am in a PhD program of a Top10 school (whose Business school is Top 5, but I guess that doesn't matter in my case), and applying for consulting. I am wondering if there are any (non boutique) firms, other than MBB , that hire PhD? Thanks.
Operations/BA Opportunities
What is generally the most common path to an operations or business analyst role for IB / HF ? Do the banks utilize recruiters for these positions or does the hiring process resemble the Analyst recruitment process? Also, when headhunters/banks look at resumes, are gaps more acceptable now than they...
Consulting Outside of MBB...how hard to get in, how good are exit ops?
Title basically says it. I'm at a non-target, so MBB is pretty much out unless I get very lucky or score some extreme contacts, so I was wondering how good some of the other firms are (such as Booze, Capgemini, AT Kearney, Deloitte, etc.) and how realistic they are from a non-target. If you want a...
Applied Predictive Technologies 1st rounds, any insight on them?
Search turned up nothing on this firm. Just got 1st rounds invite with APT but I don't know much about the firm besides its data-driven consulting practice. Sounds overall like very tech-y consulting firm. Anyone has any insight on their culture, strengths&weaknesses, career prospects etc.?
Consulting Firms in Washington, DC Area
Just curious - aside from the big players in the Washington DC area like BAH, are there any other smaller boutique/niche consulting shops in the Washington DC area? I'm looking a few up right now through Google, but I figure someone in the area will probably have a better grasp on things. Thanks...
Credit cards in consulting
Hey folks, just saw this thread dominated by bankers, so here's a question for all of you - what's the best credit card for a (traveling) consultant? I've bounced back and forth between the almighty Starwood card and a Fidelity cash-back Amex, but has anyone found the "ideal" card? What about with...
Reconsidering Wall Street?
This is primarily for the college kids: Has the recent financial crisis caused you to reconsider a career on Wall Street at all? What are you most worried about going forward: job-security, pay, or something else? Are you optimistic about the future state of the industry? If you have reconsidered...
Regional Offices
Is there any difference in PE recruiting from MBB regional offices? I've heard that one is generally locked in to the region that they currently work in - is this true? I'll be working for a southern MBB office but am interested in PE in a couple years and have no desire to stay in the south.
Patpatia & Associates
Any one has any information on this company? Thanks in advance!
Fortune 100 Corporate Strategy Group, or boutique consulting/alternative investment
I'm currently debating two offers, one from a corporate strategy group within a F100 company and from a boutique consultancy/merchant bank firm (I'm an experienced hire, post-college 2-3 years). The corporate strategy has high visibility within the overall organization, and consultants within the...

Hey Guys, I was looking for some help on my resume and would really appreciate feedback. Pitchbook or wht?
Do they have pitch books in consulting as well? For IT-consulting in particular, a firm may create a promotional brochure (mostly in size of a book with 50~200 pages) which includes similar features of an IB pitchbook such as firms credentials, financials (including potential sub-contractors'),...

Internship with a job
So this may come off as a dumb question, but it's some thing I've been thinking about for a while. I've already accepted at MBB offer for this fall, but eventually I'd like to move to the buy-side. Since my finance background is limited, is it dumb to think about doing some sort of finance-based...

MM IB vs Econ Consulting vs Mgmt Consulting
I have an offer from a decent MM IB (think JEF/ Oppenheimer ) that I have to decide on soon. It's my only banking offer, and while I like the people and the culture, I'm still not sure whether to take it, or to keep interviewing. I have final rounds at an MBB regional office, an elite boutique...
Booz Allen Hamilton - EBA Group
I did a final round interview for BAH's economic and business analysis group outside DC in the Mclean office. I don't really know much about consulting besides what I've read on some websites and forums. I know this isn't commercial and not as prestigious as MBB etc but does anyone know anything...

Axia Consulting
Anyone have any comments on them? They're based in Boston. http://www.axialtd.com/ For those with more experience with management consulting than me, care to opine on your perception of the firm? It seems like they have some good people and do some interesting work.
BCG vs. Evercore
What do you guys think? I am having a hard time deciding between the two. I feel like BCG would be all around a better experience, but Evercore would be top notch for PE placement and obviously higher pay. But then BCG is a regional office, so my expenses would be much lower than living in New York.
Future entry to PE from IB/ER/Cons?
My first post so please forgive my ignorance. I've been searching for a while here and on other banking/finance forums. I'm graduating from a top tier b-school next year and would like to get into PE eventually (would prefer sooner than later, but with no prior experience or connections, it will...
"Easiest" area to break in from non-target?
The title says it all. If you go to a non-target, what's the easiest (relatively speaking of course) field to break into out of banking, consulting, S&T , etc.?

Can you help me with this? Which one is better? McKinsey or Deloitte for a first time job? Best regards
Google APMM/RAMP vs. MBB consulting
How would you evaluate a position in the Google RAMP program vs. a position at a MBB consulting firm? Both seem pretty legit to me, but if you had to choose, which would you pick? I heard Google is more selective and is only taking on a class of around 15. Google RAMP:...

Networking without going to target school
So... I'd like to believe I'm a solid candidate for MBB but I can't shake the feeling that without going to Wharton/Harvard/MIT/Tuck/etc or having connections I'll have a hard time getting into MBB . For personal reasons I'd prefer to avoid studying abroad (I'm in Israel) and I've come to the...

I am a rising Junior looking for a structured internship program next summer. I am pretty open in my interests, but I'm most focused on IBD and consulting; needless to say I'd prefer BB NYC or MBB respectively. I thank you all in advance for thoughts/suggestions on both my resume and my general...
