Trying to decide between an internship at a top 5 AUM HF (back office research) vs a F500 company (financial leadership program). Want to work in IBD and eventually end up in PE.

Start career at SIG or a top technology firm?

Hey guys, I am a senior in college. I've been trying to decide between:
1) An offer as a trader from SIG or
2) Offers from pretty good technology firms (Microsoft/Google/Facebook)
How is SIG in terms of industry standard? Is it below/above average? What's mobility like between different trading firms? Having gone through the SIG interview process, I know a lot about SIG, just not a lot about how it ranks against the other firms. I know it's no Jane Street or Getco, but hey, I'm not quite that smart, either ;P

I should add, I have a background in mathematics/computer science.

All answers appreciated. Thanks for the help!

Do banks often call to tell you that they cannot extend an offer to you?

Sorry if it's a vague question, but it means what it asks. Please share your experience.

HEC v/s Dartmouth - Masters

Hi guys, I am looking to make a career change from biz development to strategy consulting and have to chose bw HEC Paris (MSc in Management - Grande Ecole) and Dartmouth (Masters in Engineering Management).

HEC has a gap year, where I can to intern for 12 months (as opposed to 3 months at Dartmouth) and I think that is a gr8 networking opportunity. However, Dartmouth will be cheaper by around 20k euros.

Which school do you think will position me the best? pls note that I will be an international at both the countries.

(PS: If there are guys out there from HEC, Dartmouth, Duke or ESCP, pls do let me know!)

Hey guys,
just wanted to get your opinion on which one of the two programs would be *overall* better in terms of learning experience, resume, job security and exit opportunities. Would you rather do BAML Cap Mkt - DCM or TD Securities sales and trading? I had a better time with the guys from TD for my interviews so I am slightly in favor of them myself, but just wanted to get the market opinion on this. Also the position at TD would be a traditional S&T deal rather than somewhat of a hybrid group at baml.

Trillium Trading vs Citi Ops

Assuming I am interested in trading. Which of these offers would you suggest I choose?

I realize that the Citi offer is a safer bet (in terms of brand awareness, not job security), but the Trillium position is much more relevant with what I want to do.

In other words, does the small probability of moving from Citi Ops on up to front office outweigh the probability of succeeding at Trillium?

Citi 60k + 10k signing
Trillium 24k + performance

Any advice is appreciated.
