analytical skills to join its Management Reporting team within Financial Operations. The
team is responsible for delivering high-impact analysis and executive-ready insights to
the firm’s senior leadership, with a particular focus on compensation and management
company economics. This role offers the opportunity to shape the team’s analytical
capabilities and influence how senior leadership evaluates business-related
compensation decisions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY
• Partner closely with senior leadership on high-priority, bespoke analyses tied to
compensation, management company economics, and other commercial and
strategic questions relevant to senior leadership decision-making.
• Apply keen commercial judgment to frame issues, structure analyses, and
interpret results in a decision-useful way, navigating ambiguity and presenting
findings in a clear, leadership-appropriate format.
• Help scale the team’s capability to support senior leadership by identifying gaps,
strengthening the analytical approach, and proactively expanding the team’s
impact.
• Lead team initiatives in generative AI integration, process improvement,
technology adoption, and automation.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Seven to ten years of experience in management company finance,
compensation consulting, or internal strategy roles at large alternative asset
managers.
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; an
advanced degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior decision-makers through reframing
analyses and providing new perspectives on complex problems.
• Proven track record of producing rigorous analysis with imperfect or incomplete
data, with experience defining scope in ambiguous situations and building or
expanding team capabilities to address emerging needs.
• Exceptional executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize
and present complex findings for senior audiences.
• The expected annual base salary for this position is $190,000 to $230,000. Our
compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form
of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including
medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness
reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
The D. E. Shaw group is an equal opportunity employer.
