I don’t think we’re near any sort of big financial crisis. In fact, I expect the current bull market to last for at least three more years (and likely longer).
But I do think stocks are about to experience a correction (~10% pullback). And it has nothing to do with stocks being at all-time highs.
It all has to do with mega cap stocks.
When I talk about “mega caps,” I’m talking about companies with a market capitalization over $1 trillion:
The combined value of these stocks is now over $9 trillion. That represents 42% of US gross domestic product (GDP) and – importantly – 20% of the US stock market.
And I expect these "mega cap" stocks to lead the entire stock market lower.
